    3 :30 am
I can't sleep + my window was open.
I hear a slight sound outside.........it was a car door handle sound.
Not the opening of the door --- just the latch sound.
    *
I sat up and was wondering "Who, in my complex goes to work at 3;30 am ?"
I look out at the parked cars.........don't see anybody walking to the door or wandering around.
I shrug and lay back down.
    Still can't sleep !
    20 mins ?...later.
I hear that SAME sound.........very faint.
    THAT DID IT !
I get up - look - head downstairs to the front door - turn on outside lights -
stare out the window for 10 minutes.........nothing.
    Whoever it was ?.... left.
I got up for work at 4:15 am anyway ---
tried my wife's car door ( she has left it open when dealing with a cranky toddler )
and my car door = we were all locked up....and no damage.

I am going to tell all my neighbors about it . Warn them.
( And I found that guy flying his drone over my house + complex -- he was at it,again.
I saw him with his sun-cell computer steering device - his appearance, was not calming to me !
He looked a bit "rough" - shall I say ?
Could there be a connection ? with his recent flights + now this ? )

    Lock your cars...........

Joe, you have too many neighborhood problems. You might want to consider moving to a place that has less drama. :blowkiss:

I'm in a gated community and occasinally sombody will sneak in and go from driveway to driveway looking for unlocked vehicles. If I ever needed a used Garmin this would be the guy to see. So lock your doors and ask the cops if they can run by more often.

Unsettling, to say the least, Joe.

Used to be just creepy crawlers, now we've got creepy droners

I'm not sure if creepy is the right word for this. Creepy is kids smiling blank smiles at each other. Creepy is the 40 year old man lusting after the 15 year old teenage girl. Creepy is the man randomly saging "Mmm. Mmm. Oom bap oom." I think a guy checking random cars is scary.

Happens often. Very often. Just ask any local cop. They are looking for unlocked cars, and they will find a few.

And, they will find a few with the keys in them.

And maybe a couple with guns.

Some years back we had teenagers going around late at night 'flouring' the insides of cars that were left unlocked.
Sure enough one night our daughter who was visiting for the weekend forgot to lock her car in our driveway, next morning, flour everywhere inside the car. Eventually found out these kids lived in the very upscale neighborhood next to ours - as some neighbors explained it away "kids will be kids". In today's environment with security cameras everywhere not sure they would get away with it.

i always lock my doors. had one break in many years ago and stole a bunch of stereo equipment...bounced back hard and built it 20 times louder than the last literally....never had a problem after that but I myself installed my own alarm and its loud enough to wake me up, thunder has set it off and woke me up from a dead sleep...

few months ago, my brother either forgot to lock his truck or his remote which is real sensitive, unlocked it...early in the morning someone runs across the lawn, right into his truck, went all through it, left a $2500 snap-on computer, stereo equipment, money ect, think they were just looking for a gun, which is always removed from the vehicles...several minutes later, he ran right back the same way he came...my security cameras can see the guy run from the house where these mexicans just moved in...police made a report and no follow up at all...
