I checked TCM for the Christmas movies airing
    this month.
I love most all of them --
and childhood favorites ( the old black + whites ).
    .
I found several of my favorites missing from their schedule.
    .
    #1...."It's A Wonderful Life"
( this is because NBC owns the rights )
    #2
    "Christmas In Connecticut"
( the Barbara Stanwyck version )
    #3
    "Holiday Inn"
( one of my favorites ! Crosby singing + Astaire dancing ! )
    #4
    "White Christmas"
( watching Danny Kaye break up Crosby at the end of
their fan dance -is priceless...Danny starts hitting Crosby w/ his
fan --- sees he gets a laugh outta Crosby + then does it again.)
    #5
    "Miracle On 34th Street"
    ( I don't watch this one, but I didn't see it listed ?)
    .
How can you omit these classics ?
    .
    I haven't looked at AMC's schedule, yet.
I'm sure these movies will be aired somewhere ?
    And I have them taped...or own them.....somewhere ?
    .
Just wanted to give a "heads up" to Christmas movie fans.

Have all those on DVD (most upgraded from VHS somewhat recently when my husband got rid of all my vcrs....)

Also check ABC Family and Hallmark Channel - loads of holiday movies on those channels.

I'm looking for Meet Me in St Louis because I don't have that on dvd.....

PS I think Miracle on 34th Street aired around Thanksgiving - thought I saw it in the schedule, though I was out of the country that week.....

Many of these great films are also available in the blu ray formay and look incredible.

Let's not forget the classic holiday animated shows like "Year Without A Santa Claus", " The Little Drummer Boy" and "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer". For me, those are just as important to watch during the holidays as the live action films!

All or almost all of those shows are on ABCFamily's 25 Days of Christmas. On Saturdays during the day they tend to run Classic Christmas marathons:thumbsup:

I have a "classic Christmas" animated dvd set (Rankin-Bass = the BEST!!)

(I just found out I can view Meet Me in St Louis for free as an Amazon Prime member but don't think I can stream that long at home - have only done 30 minute sitcoms so far - so I put the blu-ray on my Wish List:ssst: I have no idea why it's considered a "Christmas" movie as it goes through a year, but the song "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas is featured prominently so that's probably why)

I looked at my DirecTV schedule online and it didn't come up so I'll look at the TCM website directly. Thanks. (it didn't show up when I searched from the remote last night either, but that could just be a timing issue - shows only go out so far.....)

What ever happened to the "March of the Wooden Soldiers"?
That used to air around Christmas time but then disappeared.

The 1934 Laurel & Hardy film has been shown (and released on video) under both "March of The Wooden Soldiers" and "Babes In Toyland". That is definitely another timeless holiday classic!!!

And let's not forget "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians"!

I found out thru some research that
"Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer" ( animation )
is the longest running animated show in TV history !
Running every holiday season since 1964's debut.
    .
    I checked AMC 's schedule :
    "White Christmas"
    + "Christmas In Connecticut"
    are airing.

TBS runs 'A Christmas Story' marathon over Christmas Eve + Christmas Day, showing it EVERY two hours, over and over again.

(Ralphie and the Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle).
