    Hi Everyone,

If this post is in the wrong place, my apologies.

Well, my cancelled trip to Vegas is now un cancelled and I will be travelling to Vegas Oct. 26-Oct. 31st.

My girlfriend was going to go with me, but she backed out at the last minute, and since I have the air fare purchased, I am going solo.

I will be staying Sat. and Sun. at Monte Carlo (comped through Myvegas) and then head to Harrah's, Mon.-Wed. (comped)

My husband and I have been going to Vegas since the 1980's, but this trip he wants to do some home repairs and hang around the house.

Okay, I would really appreciate a little reassurance from other members that have gone to Vegas solo. I have never been to Vegas on a solo trip. Although, I do realize it will be nice not having any certain agenda etc. or having to answer to anyone about what to do etc. LOL

I am in my 50's and an outgoing person. Although, I am cautious about my surroundings and the people around me.

I plan on seeing the Big Elvis show, if he is performing at Harrah's, stroll through some of the shopping malls, have some drinks, and of course play some slots. maybe take in a show.

I welcome advice, comments, and information from fellow solo travelers to Vegas.

    Thanks in advance......

You will have a great time! I have gone with friends, family, and significant others in the past. Going solo trumps all of those! You can do whatever you want! Hope it all goes well! I will be there solo at that time also, maybe we will randomly bump into each other:wave:

    Can't say it any better.

After a few trips in a row with others I always feel like I need a "real" Vegas trip (read: solo trip).

As the others have said, going solo is a wonderful thing. I have gone solo for many years now (including next month), and going solo gives me the freedom of doing whatever, whenever, and wherever i want. Don't worry about traveling alone, you can dine, shop, see a show, get drunk, etc. just like if you were with a mate.
    Have a great time.

Did my last solo trip 2 years ago and had a blast. Freedom to do what you want when you want is a good thing once in a while. Started out doing Vegas solo, then friends started joining to start the annual group trip to fiance and her gf's joining also. All great and dandy but felt like at times I missed out on some shows or things to please the newbies or not rock the boat.

    Enjoy and have fun.

I think the general consensus is that solo trips seem scary at first if you've never gone alone, but once you do, you only want to go alone after that.

I made a post just like this one last year before my first solo trip. I didn't know if I'd like it.

And since then I've been to Vegas 5 times by myself. lol

There was a similar post a month or two ago - you might search for it.

My trips are almost always solo (I'm 53). I've never had a problem. Just always be watchful of your surroundings and keep hold of that purse!

I do appreciate when my hotel has security near the elevators.

    Have a great time!

I'm just repeating what everyone else said, but going solo is much better. I feel I have to spend LESS time in vegas when I go alone because I spend so much... but it's much more fun. I can choose when/where I eat...where I go...when I sleep..if I want to stop gambling and go to my room and cool down....

I was worried the first time, but now I prefer it.

My first trip starts in 3 weeks, going solo as well. Really looking forward to it. I've solo'd to Mexico before, so not too worried about safety, just trying to figure out what areas to avoid when alone.

I'm joining in with the rest giving a big thumbs up for solo trips. My recent solo trip was in July of this year. Had a blast at the Flamingo doing anything I wanted to. Took my sweet time at the Spice market buffet at PHO then lost my shirt upstairs lol. The next day the temp was over 104 so I spent the morning at the pool talking with some very nice people from England, had an excellent time solo. Have a fun trip!

I've done it 3 times in the past year. I'm female 28, no problems at all! For me I enjoyed going to shows alone, and obviously gambling alone is fine. Eating is a little weird, but any causal place is fine. I went to Bouchon, Burgr, Sugar Factory.. none of it was really weird. OR there is always buffets, and the food courts obviously!

Personally, I really enjoyed having a car. (I generally drive to Vegas). I went over to Red Rock both the driving tour and did the casino, did the Neon museum, outlet mall, went to the movies, and I felt like I could! Nobody can stop me :p. Freedom is the best part.

I personally wouldn't stay out too late, and be careful who you talk with. I called it a pretty early evening on most of my trips and just relaxed. Watched TV and took baths.

Also plan it out.. it can get boring solo. Have a few attractions or shows planned.

    Solo trip

Thank you all for your input and encouragement. I'm all ready feeling more relaxed about it, and it is true, I don't have anyone to answer to.

I'm planning on seeing Big Elvis and I may want to see the LOVE show. I can get it comped from Myvegas.

This is why I love this group, questions and advice are most always replied to and in a friendly manner to boot.

I will be sure and give a trip report when I get back. I'm keeping a travel journal, so the trip report may be long. LOL Hopefully interesting.

    Much appreciated......

Million Dollar Quartet is right at Harrah's and it's a great show! We went to see it last week and everyone from 21 to 80 loved it. It was on the free diamond ticket list, too if that helps, but I don't think it's really that expensive anyway. They were giving out $20 off coupons in the casino too.

The Mac King comedy magic show is also at Harrah's and is a great way to spend a couple hours during the afternoon. Hilarious and very affordable.

And those tasty drinks served in giant mason jars at Toby Keith's might not be so affordable but hilarious adventures seem to follow :drunk:

    No issues going solo

I generally travel to Vegas twice a year solo and love in. I'm in my 40s (female) and never had an issue. With all of the security in Vegas I always feel safe. Of course, just like anywhere, stay aware of your surroundings and be smart. I personally do not wander off the strip being alone but i do walk on the strip even at night. What I love to do is go down to the fitness center in the morning and workout for an hour and then spend the next hour or two relaxing in the spa and getting ready for the day. Showers and amenities are nicer in the spa then in the standard rooms. Then I am off for the day to do whatever I want, whenever I want. Enjoy your trip.
