    My Trip Report

    Hello all,

If you remember my last TR from July, I stated it would be my last for awhile. Well, wouldn't you know it, I got accepted to speak at a conference at CP this week and so I am back down again for (maybe) the last time in a long while.

With it being an unplanned (but partly paid for) trip, funds are low - $100/day low. BUT - I figure that will be evened out by the 6 hrs/day I will be in meetings M-W.

Staying at the M Resort tonight/Sunday then the Flamingo Mon/Tue. Had room in my budget so upgraded to a GO Luxury room at the Flamingo (had been comped regular room previously) and stole a car rental for $90 for 5 days.

I am a bad flyer - need ativan for my 3hr direct flight - and have been told to take 1 a few hours before you leave and then again when you get to airport. Left me as useful as tits on a bull at this point(flight is in 4 hours), so I thought I would ramble through my pretrip goals with you:

    - Play 54 holes of golf Sunday(if sunlight provides)
    - Visit MGM Grand to pick up my Lions Progressive - or at least contribute $20 to it.
    - Hit downtown
    - Use up all of my little free plays/free coupons I have around town.
    - Try not to embarass my workplace with my presentation Monday

***AND TRY NOT TO DO ANYTHING STUPID WITH ME BEING THERE ALONE AND MY WIFE BEING AT HOME***:nono:

....while still trying to have fun, that is. :evillaugh

    hahaha....

in mccarran now in t3. Nice and shiny and waiting to head home. will recap some of the eventful areas of the trip:

    day 1
flight in on westjet was smooth - 20 minutes early. My ride was shocked. i could have just taken the shuttle to the m instead, but by the time i realized that it was too late.

went to grindburger to use a groupon. great burger. i like the personalization of what you want on it - for adventerous types like me that means blue chees and jalapenos...yum!

Quick dropoff at M resort. Changed my clothes and showed by ride (who had never seen the rooms) what the m was like. She was impressed. Same old m to me.

Now downtown to see if I could just use the $70 fp i got offered as part of a stay and play package. wouldn't you know it! I could. and if I was smart I would have played the $70 precisely and taking earnings out with me....not so much. Blew through the fp and maybe 20 more then went over to the D who were having Bret Michaels play to cele brate their renos.

He was meh - loud, busy, and a bunch of older folks who can still rock trying to rock out - funny to watch. Up to the D to see the improvements. Never been there so i signed up for their card. THEY GAVE ME 3 FREAKING DOLLARS FP? That is worse that nothing IMO.

That was returned by me slow playing that $3 as loooooong as i could. when a drink lady came for my order i had to wait even loooonger. Eventually I put in $5 and got my drink. Then, we left and went back to the M to play a bit.
Getting pretty late at this point - and late night is usually when the wheels fal off - which they did at the m to a degree. I only get 420 FP now from them (used to get $50) which is fine. I again felt as though there was not one time that I had any type of entertainment for my slot money. I should have known better, but I didnt.

Work colleague left to go to their hotela dn i walked them to the door before cashing my tito. I cashed out to head up to bed and hand placed on my shoulder followed by a "are you taking that money out for me - lets get naked!".

I could not have turned around quicker and shoot her a stronger glance of disapproval....her and her 'friend' clearly misread me and laughed about it as they walked onto their next victim. That was first for me at the M, which is too bad, IMO.....

Day 2 was up at 7AM on the nose - raced out to grab the airport shuttle and then off to car rental for my car. alamo offered me a fiat, which i would have taken if not for my golf clubs. so - focus it was (boo-urns). Jumped out to the starbucks on blue mountain and booked a tee time at paiute Snow course for later that day. Hit up the M Buffet for breakfast and had the usual breakfast goodies - made to order omelettes, all the bacon I can eat, then make it healthy with a corn salad.

Suffciently bloated I went to the pool for a 30 minutes - try not to make me so damn white - tanning session. Mission accomplished. Main pool is closed but adult pool was open, which worked.

shopped at south outlets, target and ross (the usuals) until it was time to play golf up on the reservation. Paiute is in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, but it is a great course that I would play again in a heartbeat. Played with a couple of guys who had been drinking siince 8am (it was a 130 tee time) and they enteratined me sufficiently, as did the coyote that jumped in front of us 20 yards off of the 17th tee box. Woops!

From there it was over to Caesars to register for the conference. Realized that i was starving and caesars catering had nachos and melty cheese - so I ate that for supper. Diet will start when i get home....love the Caesars conference facilities. Clean classy, and useful. We closed that out around 8 and then I headed back to M resort to see if i could make any money back from my day 1 losses. NOPE. But I did break even, which was nice. and no hooker accostings that evening, so I am 2 for 2 on day 2!

Will update the last 2 days when i get home and include pics of concert my review of famingo (with pics)and my first awesome WOF story!

ok - needed a day to catchup on a few things...

    day 3
conference ran most of morning. checked out of m resort at 6 am and headed over to park at flamingo where i'd echk in later in the day and walked over to caesars for conference. About 230 or so when conference day was over and I went back to check in.

Went to lineup (which was small - it was Monday) and noticed the TR lineup had no one in it. Zipped right over and was helpedd. Nice! used my comps and work was paying for trip so I took them up on their email for an upgrade to GO deluxe. When I asked for the highest floor possible the bellman said ' is the top floor high enough?' Why, yes....yes it is!

Went and checked out the room - very nice! Pics included for you of various times of the day for the view. Had a pretty good view of bellagio. Down to the pool - the GO Pool with all of the adults, when you have spent all of the day thinking and your brain is tired - is NOT the right place to be. 30 minutes of THUMP THUMP THUMP of the music and the once a minute 'woo hoo vegas' drunken yells and my migraine was warming up. However, it was funny that I wore the Ghostbusters tshirt MLIFE gave me last trip and that encouraged plenty of 'who ya gonna call' yells and few impromptu drunken dance in front of me by females. Never thought that tshirt would be a pickup magnet.....

upstairs to shower and change before meeting my work colleague for a walk sown the south strip. I wanted to hit Cosmo to play the Kitty Glitter/dog combo game and she wanted to paly excalibur. Bonus on Kitty but downa few bucks. Boy I love the Cosmo though and the vibe it has. and its quiet.

Excalibur is always fun to go for an hour or to. The look of the casino is nice, but not clean, and my colleague swears 'she always wins there'. well, she didn't. But I was only down $20 and got to play Breakfast at Tiffany's (fun game) and Superman (ate my money). My luck changed as we hit PHo and other CET properties on the way back home. Won $50 at Zeus in PHo (on min bet on first spin after going down from 2x bet, ouch) then broke even at Paris. Back at Flamingo we went straight to Margaritaville and I started winning more. Kronos - 3 spins - bonus - $75. Cashed out, changed machines, 3 spins, bonus, $50....happened for about 4 machines in a row! A 1/2 hour later it went choppy again, but I was up a few hundred for the night. Never said anything to my work colleague who was (again) losing her shirt and getting mad about it. Went back into Flamingo and played a bit walking back to elevators, where we saw a tallllllll lady of the night at our elevator bank.

Day 4 - Uneventful. No sleep (although the Flamingo bed was very comfy and the room was very quiet)so I just went golfing after the conference out at Angel Park. Played the Palm course for $30 and enjoyed the company of 2 Air Force vets. A nice round - not fancy, but nice.

Only thing to report was being aggressively pursued again by a hooker who tried to follow me into the elevator when I returned back to my room that night. I was not aware that the Flamingo was so hooker friendly?

    Day 5
Conference ended (for me) around 11am. Flight at 8pm. So, I checked out at 7am before conference started that day and afterwards got in my car to head up to Wynn/Palazzo/Venetian to just walk around and relax - did not plan on playing at all.

Once in Wynn, I started thinking 'ahh, just try $20 more in a dollar machine' and thought about that for a few minutes walking around. Decided it wouldn't hurt, although I was tired of giving my money away. Settled on a .25 machine and played for 10 spins - had $12.50 left. Saw WOF behind me for a quarter machine and went there.

3rd spin in a got the spin bonus. I don't watch that stupid wheel go around because it can drive me nuts so I just wait until its done. The crowd cheered and I had won....$20. Oh well. At least I made a bit of money.

Now usually when I get the bonus and want to leave I always play 3 spins - because sometimes it retriggers quickly. Sure enough, on the 3rd (and last spin) i got the bonus again. Cool! Maybe another $20? So I waited with my ehad down until the crowd cheered and looked up. Just then the lady started yelling YOU WON YOU WON!!!

    I actually won the max! 2000 credits - $500 !

I sat back, let out a deep sigh, and smiled. What a nice way to finish out my trip!

cashed out, went over to Venetian for an hour and saw the Top Dollar machine that JillyFromPhilly (i believe) won her big jackpot on in Aria. Thought I would try it and got 2 bonuses in 5 spins. However, the biggest offer I ever got was $30. Did a bit of chocolate shopping for my wife (she ended up getting chocolate from 3 cholateirs on the strip, so she's happy).

    QUICK THOUGHTS
M Resort has probably seen the last of me. Rooms are awesome, but casino just sucks every penny from me ...quickly.

Flamingo experience was so/so - great room in my case, but casino was too party-centric for me and so i will probably not return there. That place is the definition of a 3 star/3.5 star hotel - nice parts are 4 star (my room/bed) but common areas are 2/3 stars.

    Hope you liked my report!

Congrats on the win! I'am like you, that WOF wheel can get a bit annoying but I think I could stand it for $500! Lol

haha...yes my wife loves the machine ...until we are a hundred into it and the most the wheel has given us is $20. However, in this scenario I am certainly willing to 'put up' with a $500 win!
