The wristbands get you free drinks while gambling.

Don't feel bad. Ms. Gecko and I got back from 8 nights earlier this month staying at Orleans, MSS, and Suncoast and didn't see any bands either. We each wore one. In fact, we thought they brought us terrible luck, though we're willing to try again in 2 weeks.

I wore mine for five days 11/9-11/14. I never noticed any others and nobody commented on mine. Better luck next time!

Roger that. My luck didn't kick in until the next day when I ditched the wristband. But we'll see what happens just before Christmas. Maybe they just need priming.

I sure hope you're right. The Oct/Nov trip generated my worst Vegas gambling results in over 29 years! I put the band on before I left for the airport and didn't take it off until returning home, so it should be well primed by now!

This would have been a good weekend to have mine, what with all the degenerates whose names begin with 'P' in town, but I managed to forget mine on my coffee table. And it's not like my luck could be much worse than it's been so far!

Maybe to get good luck, you have to wear your wristband inside-out.

When I was in Vegas last month, I asked the dealers at PH if they had seen anybody wearing the same wristband I was wearing. They had not, and they looked puzzled when I explained to them what it was.

Of course they looked puzzled. I am not trying to be a dick, I bought one too (it was waiting in the mail for me when I got home from my most recent Vegas trip). But think about the numbers, the initial run of wristbands was 200. There are roughly 110,000 people visiting Vegas every day (per the internet so it must be true). So on any random day there is maybe 1 person in the whole city that owns a wristband out of 110,000 total visitors. So no some random dealer at PH or anywhere else is not going to have any idea what you are talking about. And also don't expect to be walking down the strip and see tons of other people wearing them.

Also, not to be a dick, but people go to Vegas for VACATION...not to meet random people off of some internet message board.

I don't know, I actually enjoyed meeting some of the people on this board. I think it Is hard in our normal circle of friends to find gambling degenerates. Normal people look at us and think we have serious problems, but we are willing to spend $$$ for entertainment. Most spouses probably can't take it either...

I have to agree with nate on this one. I always enjoy meeting new people with similar vices.

The puzzlement I got was that the dealer found it strange that a site like this would even exist, not that she had not seen the wristband before.

Totally agree nate. My husband (and our circle of friends) aren't into gambling really at all and that was sometimes a little annoying for me. Over time though, I've found it to be a good balance. If we were both into it, I'm sure we'd go a lot more, and with much higher stakes.....which eventually could be trouble. I now take that annoyance as a silver lining, and will just keep my eyes open for the wristbands!

Sorry you didn't spot any DaiLun - hope I have better luck this Thursday!

We've met several VMB members over the past several years, some of whom we keep in touch with and occasionally meet up with in Vegas. Gambling is about all we do there, so taking a little time out to be sociable and maybe meet new friends provides a fun break during a weeklong trip.

We didn't spot any other wristbands on our Halloween trip, nor did nobody ask us about them. We also still think the green bands brought us nothing but bad luck, but we'll try again two weeks from today. However, they'll come off quickly if things start going like they did the last time! :)
