So I know you can smoke in most casinos in the gaming area.

Are you also allowed to smoke if sitting at the bar in the casino, where there may be no gambling?

What about other bars, is smoking allowed in any bars or drinking places? I remember I could smoke at the Spearmint Rhino last time I went, but wondering about normal bars.

Would be nice to have the option to sit for drinks with friends and smoke, but not have to necessarily gamble.

Restaurants do not allow smoking. Hallways, "public areas" (eg check-in), and non-smoking rooms.

Smoking allowed in casinos, in bars (it's sort of half and half on this - if they serve food, they're not supposed to allow smoking, but there are loopholes, I just don't know what they are), and I think still on the street it's allowed.

You definitely cannot smoke in any poker rooms. As far as regular casino areas go, I know MGM Grand and Palazzo have areas that are designated as smoke free.

They passed a law that you can smoke in the bar of a restaurant if the bar was partitioned off from the restaurant. So many of the local pubs erected glass walls around the dining areas, but many didn't.

The problem was and is, they passed the law, but didn't allocate funds to enforce it. So many of the local pubs that can have a maximum of 15 VP machines, still don't have any separation and the smoke drifts into the dining room.:nono:

I just found it weird when I first went....I had the notion that you could smoke "everywhere" in Vegas, but as a smoker, it seemed there were a lot of places you couldn't.

For example, at least as I recall, any bar I went to didn't allow smoking (I guess due to them also serving food).

I had hoped there might be some open air patios resturants that allowed smoking, but again, they server food so I guess no smoking.

There's an outdoor bar by (I think) Planet Hollywood that kinda overlooks the strip, and it seemed to me you couldn't smoke there either. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly though.

There used to be many more areas where they allowed it. Restaurants, malls, all bars, but they changed that a couple years ago. Still plenty of places you can though, just have to be aware. There are some restaurants that allow smoking at the bar, but not the seats in restaurant, or outdoors, but not indoors, just have to check it out. Toby Keith's allows smoking at the bar, and not on the main floor. Cabo Wabo (and I believe PBR) used to allow smoking on their patio.
