S L S doesn't just roll off the tongue. Lots of places get their name abbreviated.

If folks are going to say this, how do you think they might do it?

How many ways are there to say it? Like "Ess - El - Ess"

One would have to a dimwit to try pronouncing it as "Slis" or "Sluus"

If it's at the old Sahara, does that mean the end-of-the-line for the monorail is near there?

Yes. And, as before, a pedestrian bridge goes from the Monorail across Paradise and into the back of SLS.

Oh well, at least the cabbies will understand what we're saying. I love when you get in a cab and say Paris and watch them whiz on by it to take you to Harrahs. I now say Paris, with a P.

Yes, I do the same thing ever since they brought me to Harrah's from Wynn. I felt stupid feeling that I didn't enunciate so I just walked from Harrah's to Paris.
