Decided to visit the new SLS hotel and casino the last time I was in town in January. Ended up spending a few hours gambling there and, though I didn't win, I did enjoy myself. In the last few weeks, I received a nice mailer offering me pretty much any two nights for the next 3 months. Since I am coming to Vegas again in a few weeks, I decided to see if they would honor it. After a short wait on the phone, they basically said no problem but just asked for my "Code" number and name. They gave me a confirmation number but never asked for a credit card or anything. That seemed odd to me and kind of concerned me. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this hotel? Having never stayed here before, I was wondering whether I needed to be concerned.

It's maybe a little strange, but when I call MLife, I never need to leave a CC. I usually just book online with other places, but call with them.

I've never been asked or had to enter a CC when booking online through the various casino/hotel websites either.

OK. Well, most all of the comped rooms I've gotten in the past were either through Total Rewards or Boyd and I've done them online. They always asked for a CC# (though I was never charged anything) and sent an email confirmation. First 4 nights of my trip this time are comped at the Hard Rock (also booked online) and they did the same thing. Only thing comparable was a few free nights at a local Indian casino where I called. Maybe the CC has mostly been just to confirm identity at the other places. Anyway, thanks for the replies. Will probably just reconfirm with SLS before my trip. I've got the confirmation # so should be all good.

We used this offer last week. Just know that they place $100 per night hold on your credit card at check in.

Yeah...I noticed that. Not a big deal but I would never want to stay somewhere with that sort of hold for like 5 or 6 days. That gets sort of ridiculous. Hard Rock is only $50 a day now which seems more reasonable to me.

The CC at time of reservation is for no shows. Most places will charge you for one night if you don't show up or cancel 24 hours prior. In this case since it's comped they aren't worried.
