I received an offer from TR for $375 in casino play and a gift card for 250. When I called and made the reservation the person asked how I would like my freeplay (Slots or Tables). I usually play both, but I told the reservation agent slots.

I'm assuming when I check in my TR card will be loaded with the freeplay? Also if I had to choose Table games, would they have given me actual chips or ???

Thanks...I'm sure it will be super simple, but I've never redeemed any offer that gave me free play in Vegas before!

With Total Rewards it might be loaded on your card or in the form of vouchers for the slot play. For table games they would give you promotional chips - chips you use and bet with like regular chips, but you can't go cash them out.

For table play, it will be vouchers that look like a TITO.

Wow, i guess i was wrong myself. I thought they gave you vouchers for table games also like they do in ac. I guess its been awhile since I have received promos in vegas.

Thanks for the replies...I'm assuming that I can't simply cash out the free play once it's loaded on the card....let's say they load the $375 on my card...Can I simply play 37 hands of Video poker at $10 hand and cash out whatever I have left from the freeplay?

Thanks for clarifying. Was thinking how long it has been since I have seen promo chips physically. Then thought that I was wrong about vegas because borgata in ac gives vouchers and not chips. Glad I wasnt delusional about vouchers in vegas also.

    Don't assume like I did...

I can’t comment on TR but I did have a funny experience with this at NYNY a few years ago. I got a room offer with $100 freeplay so I asked at the Mlife desk if I could get chips instead of slot play, foolishly thinking this would be a common request. The person looked at me as if I was from Mars and said she’d have to speak with her manager. After about 5 minutes of deliberation, she finally came back and said OK, and handed me a single black promotional chip. Great, I thought, and walked over to the craps table where I popped it down and said “change please”. The dealer said they can’t break promotional chips and I had to bet it all - not what I had in mind. So I placed it on the 6, next roll was a 7. Fastest freeplay I ever burned through, but another good Vegas lesson.

Exactly right! You'll have to play one hand there at the end on $5, rather than $10 ($1 denom vs. $2)

Though PAPERPOSTER said no, I think he meant yes and no and yea, but. ???

If they load $375 and you play 37 hands at $10 a hand, you will have played through the $370. If you played another $5 or more, you can then cash out whatever is left.

Bottom line, you have to BET $375 to clear the freeplay.

Thanks, I figured I had to burn though the 375.....I used 10x37 to make the math simple...I should have said 37 hands at 10 and 1 at $5, LOL!!!

There is a big reason NOT to do this. If the machine runs out of paper, then you have to sit there and wait.

It has ZERO bearing on your wins or losses. If you have trouble keeping track, then it may make sense. It will start showing your earned points once you start playing real money which would be an indication you have used your freeplay. You can then cash out, or decide to play that machine anyways.

Your winnings do not disappear unless you continue to play AFTER your freeplay has been used.

the only reason i said to do it was to keep track of your winnings
sometimes you just keep on hitting so you forget to keep track.

I just did one of these offers, and you have your choice of:

Paper gaming vouchers, in your case probably three $125 tickets, play till you lose, even money bets.

Or slot money, which is TITO like papers they give you, that you can put into any slot and use, but because you can get this in any denomination you want, such as $100, $50, $20, $10, etc, it's easy to keep track of when you've used your free play on a machine, and cash out and move on.
