I just got back from Vegas, however, found a few Cashout Vouchers in my wallet which I forgot to cash in.

On the Rio vouchers - it states that you have 180 days to cash in before becoming void. No problem, since I am returning in December.

On my Gold Coast vouchers - it states October for cash in time (only 60 days). This is a problem!

Any one have any experiences with cashing in vouchers beyond the stated date?

I personally have never done it, but one of my friends I meet
up with a lot did and they would not cash it in for her. She didn't even
realize she had it in her travel purse until her next trip. She had
a $ 53.00 ticket from Planet Hollywood and they would not accept it. She
found it in a zipper pocket and it was over a year old. No go.

I would try and see if you have any friends going and get them to cash it for
you. I don't know about the Gold Coast, but PH wouldn't budge for her.

After the date from experiences I have read from this forum and others (I've never personally tried), you usually have to raise a stink and ask for a supervisor, but they still have the ability to cash them. Just requires more paperwork.

Hopefully they aren't worth too much?

I hope I hear more positive experiences. The vouchers are more than $500.

I wish they were like sportsbook tickets where you can mail in the ticket and get a check back.

Normally with Vegas, you can contact them & they will provide a mailing address & specific department to cash in a voucher/TITO. I know the CET props will do this as mom had one left over after one of our trips. Similar in respect to sending in a sports book ticket to cash out. I had address for CET props saved, but I do not have one for Coast properties. I see you are in Canada & I don't know if they send it via money order, or how they handle it. You may get hit with an exchange fee etc if it is an American check. However possibly they may issue a check you can just cash the next time at their own cage. I would NOT risk trying to redeem it after the expiration date.

I would deal directly with a host on duty or cashier cage. I say this because Atlantic City does NOT allow you to redeem via mail. I sent a chip to someone on this board as they offered to cash it in for me. It was a long time member. I gave my address & said they could keep a portion of it for their trouble. However they NEVER sent any of it to me. So be safe & deal directly with the casino. It was the first bad experience with a member here.

If you want to try to get a mailing address etc without calling from Canada, this is the website contact address to start with: http://www.goldcoastcasino.com/contact-us

jgates8 - very helpful info for the OP and others like me in case it ever happens to me - thanks for taking the time to provide detail! Sorry about that AC experience, not cool and very sad - one's word should be one's bond.

If the Gold Coast does not allow it, I'm willing to help for a %..I'll be there soon enough.

Also protect the Rio ticket from sunlight etc and scan all vouchers if possible.

Thanks for the helpful reply (from everyone else too!) I hope they have the option of sending it in by registered mail and send me back a cheque. It sucks that you had your only bad experience on here with a member - sometimes money makes people do some nasty things! I sent an email to B-connected and will try to contact the host on duty at Gold Coast and ask some options.

I wonder if someone could find a previous thread on this? I know about one I started years ago about a sports ticket, but no TITO related one.

Agree totally. That is complete scumbag behavior. I cannot even imagine
asking for a percentage. I have cashed a couple of 100.00 chips for people
here in my hometown that got home with one and I was going anyway. No problem
to do it and just put their money in the safe until I travel home. I cannot imagine
not giving someone their money! That is horrible.

Seems like the idea of contacting the Casino and asking if they can do it for you
is the right thing to do.

Great responses! Just a follow up -- I got off the phone with the host at Gold Coast and she mentioned two options are available:

(but first to scan/photocopy TITO before you do anything else)

    1. Go to the Cage and they get her (or host on duty) to override the expiration date issue - since an expired ticket can not be paid by them or a machine (mine will be 2 1/2 months overdue, so not a huge deal, although she mentioned that she has done some tickets that are 6 months over the date)

    2. Mail in the TITO to the finance department (Orleans in my case) and they will issue you a cheque for the amount (this process is similar to a sportsbook ticket) - although this is very time consuming since they have to verify the information and go through a lot of departments before any cheque is written - this information was not only mentioned by the host, but is my own personal experience - with a sportsbook winning ticket ($1500) sent into the Venetian - it took over three months to get the cheque (in US$ funds) sent to Canada. Domestic US residents have a lot less time - I've heard less than a month from sending registered mail to getting cheque in their hand.

This happens all the time, and casinos have procedures to handle it. If you're comfortable with the host's confidence level on option #1 and you know for sure you'll be in Vegas when you think you will be, I'd go that route, because it's less steps in the process.

Option 2 will work, but you have a small sweat factor while it's out of your hands. I brought two large TITOs home once, Express mailed then to my host at Mandalay Bay and had a check in less than two weeks. Sportsbook tickets might take longer because I think most sportsbooks are operated by third parties.

It shouldn't take a casino any longer to process a USD check going to a Canadian address, it probably just varies by the casino, some probably just get it done faster than others.

We got back to England & within a day or so found a ticket from the Plaza. I rang my host & he said just to post it back, I did & received a check fairly quickly
I just had to record the letter but do not state it's a voucher The US Post Office do not cover them, Says it's something else.

I've cashed in a few expired tickets over the years and never had a casino "stiff" me, but almost, once.

At the LV Hilton I had one from a previous trip, low amount, forget exactly, but meaningful. The cashier did not even bat an eye, scribbled something on it and paid it.

Fast forward a few years. I found two, both from local (CB) casinos. At Ameristar, the cashier took it to a supervisor and I could hear him say "yeah, pay it" or something like that.

Now at Horseshoe it was different. The cashier said no, sorry, tough sh*t, etc. The supervisor was within earshot and came over. "I'm gonna have you sign a dispute form." On the form he wrote my players card info and "Player disputes ticket value of $0, requests $13.79" or something like that. Then they paid me.

A co-worker, however, said they (Horseshoe) flat out refused to pay one for him.

I've been careful to cash them out ever since.

In July, I brought an expired TITO back to Orleans. They called the cage supervisor over, and she gave me my $22.50

I had good experience with casinos where Im a big player. Casinos where I'm not known it varies. Usually if the ticket is not too big they're good about it. Higher tickets are much more of a headache. That's in california though.

I hope by "help for a %" you mean the price of an envelope and stamp or even the Paypal fees... you seriously going to take a cut for opening an envelope and then putting a ticket in a machine?

You charge for holding doors for people too?

On a positive note, it sounds like you had a great trip to walk away with money you forgot about! :)

I do hope you can get this resolved though in all seriousness, I'd be worried too. Good luck!

No I do not charge for holding doors open, but do expect a thanks in return.I would have asked the OP to send me a certified letter so that would mean a trip to the P.O. to sign for it,and if Paypal was involved a trip to the bank to deposit my own $ in the bank I use just for ebay/paypal. I'd be fronting my own $ before I even get to Vegas to cash it.And if the OP did not use Paypal, then another trip to PO for another certified letter to Canada. Is that free DeMon??

I don't think you need to worry. No one will be using your "service".
