No matter how many trips I make, or which hotel I stay at I usually never can get good sleep in Vegas. Seriously some trips I wonder if I will just collapse at a table
while playing. Does anybody do the go to room, toss and turn for a couple hours, and back down the elevator thing. Of course this also occurs the night before the
trip. So if you see a big guy in his 50's nodding off at Mainstreet from Mar 15 thru Mar 18, wake me up and introduce yourself.

I do this. I may pass out for 3-4 hours from too many drinks, but then I go back out, either in the middle of the night or early morning. I've found a midday nap actual helps things. Go take an hour or two after lunch...

I have no trouble stumbling back to room and passing straight out. My wife however can hear things going on for 10 rooms in any direction, no luck sleeping for her.

I have slept well on very few occasions while in Vegas.

As much as I tell myself that this is a vacation and I need to chill and relax when I hit the town my adrenaline rockets up to full go. I will get 4-5 hours max and some nights less than that.

Last SB weekend I pulled an all nighter the first night and I hated myself for it.

I'm generally in bed by 9 pm up by 430 am weekdays and I don't use an alarm clock. If Jabba the Hut is snoring next door or if its real noisy a melatonin helps. Weekends are wobbly time but that damn internal clock has me up at 430 every day! I do nap off a hangover, though.

This was the first time I went to Vegas when I was not on summer break. I did my usual up till 6 or 7 am deal, but damn if I was not up at 9 am the next morning.. stupid internal clock! Usually I can sleep till noon or 1.

Also the first time I was unable to get a power nap in before doing it all again! I was in pain for few days at home!

I have never slept well in Vegas, I toss and turn with my mind wandering to the casino floor and eventually I do just go back to the casino for a few hours. If I could block out that I was in Vegas I would be ok, but I'm in Vegas, I don't want to sleep and miss anything. When I get home it takes me a couple nights to recover and catch up on the lost sleep.

i'm not usually in bed by 9pm... more like when you are waking... but i do go to the room a couple times a day to just chill or power nap...

one trip i left ware about 5AM to catch a flight at bradley.. once on the air...it was "go time" as i had some SWA coupons....got to vegas
around noon... checked in as room was ready and the room bar was open. ;) had a couple more beers in the room as i got things
squared away... down to the casino(Harrahs) to get my gambling fix started... played off and on all day, plus meeting up some internet friends
for some food and cocktails... a couple of my lady friends found me at 6am vegas time the next morning.... i was ahead a LOT, but they said
i was "talking in tongues" and needed a toothbrush... LOL.. they dragged me and my stack of chips from the table, brought me up to my room,
and threw me on the bed.......i woke up,looked at the clock and thought it was 5AM ,so i jumped in the shower, shaved, washed, dressed
and headed down to the casino... uhhh it was 5 pm that afternoon and i was still buzzed... hit the reset button:drunk:

    what a trip

I don't sleep well in Vegas. I'm always laying in bed thinking: "Is someone on a heater at the craps table?". I end up getting out of bed and head down to the casino to check.

Bring along a couple pair of earplugs. Helps the noise level, if that is a concern.

I can't sleep in Vegas, so I just take a couple of 2-3hr naps per day whenever I can, usually 4-8am and 4-8pm time ranges.
    I use earplugs and eyeshades.

At night in Las Vegas I don't have a problem getting to sleep and when I'm out I sleep pretty good... I just have a hard time sleeping in. I'll go to bed at 2-3AM (close to normal time back home) and then wake up at 7-8AM and be totally wide awake and unable to get back to sleep.

Nowadays I usually go for an afternoon nap to do some resting up, catching an extra 1-2 hours.

Assuming I'm on a pleasure trip in LV, I generally do not turn in until I'm dead tired. I will often do a power nap in the afternoon so I'll be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the evening.

Now sometimes I'll get the alcohol-adrenaline rebound maybe 5-6 in the morning or so, and if I can't sleep I'll get ready and go down. I did that over the holidays at the Rio. I'll usually make up for it with a brief morning power nap. LOL, when I tried it last month, just as I was walking down the hall I noticed the houskeeper cart right outside of the room. I just went on in (she asked to see my room key) and crashed right on top of the covers. :)

Like others in vegas I usually take an hour or two nap in the afternoon, right before dinner. This allows me to stay up to the wee hours of the morning (usually I turn in about 3 or 4 am). I usually get up around 8 or 9 am and go for breakfast (if I'm tired I go back to sleep after breakfast) so I usually get about 5 hours of sleep at night. I find the tables to be busy in the early evenings so I like to gamble between 11 pm and 4 am where the tables aren't as crowded.

I usually have no problems falling asleep in vegas. I do toss and turn the night before my trip, usually because my mind is racing on what I want to do or the excitement of vegas. I also can't sleep because I keep thinking that I forgot to pack something. I will get up because I did forget something on my check list.

I have a hard time sleeping in hotels in general. Unfamiliar furnishings, strange lights, sounds of other people in the hallway, etc. In Vegas, it's even worse because I can hear the casino calling my name 24/7. The alcohol helps, but it doesn't do the trick for a solid night of sleep.

I travel with a white noise machine that helps a lot to drown out the sounds of other people and plumbing in the hotel. I also have tape, binder clips and clothes pins to be sure those black-out curtains stay closed.

I try to get an afternoon nap in when I can, but I mostly decide I can sleep when I get home. :)

Last trip, I went to my parents' house after Vegas. The first three days, my mom kept finding me asleep around their house. She said, "Why are you so sleep deprived!?!" I replied, "Duh. Vegas." :haha:

I find that I have averaged about 3-4 hours sleep in a 24 hour period (no set time but usually somewhere around 4am) with no issues getting to sleep. My trips have been 8 night and 10 night trips and it happens inevitably that I will have one night late in the trip that I will "oversleep" and get maybe 5.5-6 hours of sleep.

Completely agree with this. Nothing wrong with a little mid-day snooze.
