    My Trip Report

So I am sitting at the Atlanta airport Delta Sky Club waiting to jump on my flight to Vegas. Pounding vodka and sodas and preparing for a crazy few days in Vegas. Some of you might recall I was out in Vegas less then two weeks ago on a bachelor party. I expect this trip to be much better. First off we have a Skyloft at MGM and a couple rooms. The reason for the trip is my best friend's brother just turned 21 this week. Their Uncle who is pretty wealthy decided what better bday present than a Vegas trip. The uncle plays exclusively high dollar slots ($25, $50, and $100). They all got out there last night and apparently he is up $12K currently. We have a tee time at 8am at Shadow Creek tomorrow morning and besides that no plans. Apparently we have Lady Gaga tickets if we want them. (I would rather see Garth but whatever). We will probably do a couple big dinners, a couple nights at some clubs, and a trip to the Rhino. Of course no trip would be complete without some serious gambling. I am not going to promise prompt updates but I will do my best and try to take some good pics. Now back to pounding drinks.

The Skyloft, and Rhino was the best thing in your post. :) Ask the butler if they'll do a shot with ya.

Can a nigga get a table dance? Be careful at the Rhino, something about barely 18 year old girls taking their clothes off makes you spend all your cash.

On the airplane heading home. I am alive and still have money in my pocket. Just about broke even. Probably the craziest 3 days I have ever expierenced. I have some pics to post and will write a detailed TR once I can see straight again.

Man, ya gotta post those pics when you get a chance. The Skylofts are quite the experience. I only wish I knew about them when I was 21. :)

I am alive. Ever had a three day hangover??? Well me either until this week. So to clarify I am 26 and one of my best friend's brother turned 21 two weeks ago. Their high roller uncle decided to take a group to Vegas to celebrate. We had a 2bdrm Skyloft #67 along with 5 rooms in the tower. I believe there were a total of 15 people. Only 5 of us were in our 20's while the rest were in their 40-50's. Most of my gambling consisted of me being black out drunk from a club each night so details might be sketchy. Here we go.....

So landed about 9pm Vegas time and waited at baggage claim for about 45 minutes. Of course my golf clubs were the last thing to come out. The MGM had sent us a car so we were met by a friendly lady who walked us out to the staging area. To my surprise there was a Maybach waiting. So we start loading luggage in and realize its not all going to fit. So instead have to jump into a gold MGM limo. First time in my life I have ever been disappointed to ride in a limo. We get the driver to swing by the liquor store since apparently the folks who arrived the previous night are getting low on supplies. A quick $180 later and we are set with a huge bottle of goose, some 3 olives, and a bottle of captain.

We pull up to the MGM and are met at the SkyLofts entrance and are told our bags will be taken to our rooms. We get escorted by a concierge through the lobby to the SkyLofts elevators and up we go. Obviously the Skylofts floor is completely different from everything you left down below. It has a better smell and everything is top of the line. The two people sitting at the desk always stand and welcome you which is a nice touch. We make our way into the Skyloft and are met by Evan our butler who is making drinks for everyone. We replenish the liquor supply and start enjoying some beverages while checking out the suite. My best friend had showed me some pics from a previous Loft they had stayed in so I knew what to expect but again it is pretty incredible. Top of the line everything. Crestron remotes in each room that control everything from your Ipod, to the drapes, air conditioning, and everything else controllable. I have pics if someone will let me know how to post them.

So after a couple drinks and the tour of the suite the 5 of us in our 20's are told we are going to be taken care of tonight. This meant we had a prime table at Haze at Aria for the night. So I roll down to my normal room which was decent but after coming for the Skylofts makes you think your staying in a crack house. We get dressed, meet in the lobby, and hop into a cab over to Aria. The entrance to Haze isnt the most organized place in the world but we found someone told them we were on the list for a table set up through the SkyLofts and we were off. Thursday night seemed like a good night to be there things were definitely lively. We were required to get 3 bottles but I think that was more due to having a prime table on the floor compared to the number of people we had. Needless to say we had a blast. Some rapper was at the table next to us so we had group of girls after group of girls begging to hang out. It was an epic night and with the drinking starting at the airport earlier in the day I blacked out about mid way through. My buddy said I was in rare form and I can believe it. Final tab with tax and gratuity was around $2600 and charged to the Skyloft. The next thing I remember is being at the blackjack table around 430.

Apparently we had taken a taxi back and I nearly busted my ass on the curb shocking I know. So we played about $50 a hand blackjack and was up and down the whole time finally finishing down about $200. At this point it was around 7am and I was suppose to meeting some folks in the lobby at 9 for a teetime at Shadow Creek. So I go up stairs set out all my clothes and put my clubs by the door so I can wake up at 8:55. Well around 10am the guy that I am rooming with wakes me up and was like arent you suppose to be on the golf course right now? A lot of profane language was expelled and I called my buddy and his uncle to apologize but no worries someone else filled in for me. Went to sleep for another hour and a half and was up and ready for lunch.

We had two cabanas side by side reserved at the lazy river pool at MGM. It was packed and I was hungover and hungry. Luckily we were told to order whatever we want since of course the Uncle/MGM was covering the tab. I had one of those huge thermos filled with some tropical vodka and rum drink. We also ordered about 3 of everything on the menu including sandwiches, chicken tenders, quesadilas, chips and salas, etc. Put a little golf on the tv in the cabana and I was in heaven working toward curing the hangover. So once I got a little buzz on we ventured out to the lazy river and while there were some attractive females it was mostly dbags and older people. No worries the drinks kept flowing at the Cabana until about 5. Some of the older people in the group got drunk enough to where they went up to the room and didn't make it out for the rest of the night.

So after a shower I headed down to the Casino for some more blackjack and I probably ran $100 through the slots. Made a little money this time around. One thing to note I think Canadians are taking over Vegas. Everyone I met was from across the border. So the Uncle's host offered us Lady Gaga tickets which two people accepted while the rest of us headed over to Gallagher's Steakhouse at NYNY. We had the Calamari app which was pretty typical and just so so. I think 80% of the table ordered the 10oz Filet along with a 2lb lobster and we shared a number of sides including the Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, and Spinach. We could have skipped the sides since they were barely touched but we did partake in some desert which was delicious from what I can remember.

After dinner the Uncle had arranged for two tables upstairs at Studio 54 with multiple bottles. While it was great to hang out with everyone Studio 54 in no way compares to Haze or most other major clubs in Vegas. The quality of talent was lacking and the Atmosphere was so so. There were some interesting sites since once the Gaga concert got out the place filled with some strange folks. Also the opening act for Gaga had a table across from us. So we sat around there and killed off the bottles and around 330 descended on the Casino again. Played some BJ for a couple hours and hit a couple hundred at the slots so I was back up around $700. Went to bed again as the sun was coming up around 7am.

Woke up around 1000am and had the gambling fever not to mention the maids and other people were loud as hell in the hall. So I threw my swim trunks on and headed down to the Lion slots right when you walk into the Casino and sat down along with 2 other guys and the Uncle. The Uncle likes to warm things up on the $1 slots and then moves to the high $$ slots. So I played through about $300 and could never hit anything decent. I am not a big fan of slots but the Uncle was killing it. He had thrown in $200 and had the machine up to $1200 so I thought that was a good sign. I bid them well and headed out to the cabana. We grabbed some lunch and our thermos drinks again and decided we need to check out Wet Republic. Every attractive female we saw at the pool was heading that direction so we called up to the Skylofts and got them to add us to the VIP list. We walk past everyone in line and tell them our names and boom we are in with no cover. Damn I love the Skylofts.

So Wet Republic is basically a club with people wearing bathing suits in a pool. There was some serious talent and a lot of Jersey Shore wannabes. I really wish we had got a cabana on the backside of the pool toward the MGM Signature buildings. They had a really nice set up overlooking everything along with their own lap pool. Maybe next time we will try one of those out. So we hung around and watched everyone get more drunk which led to a brawl between 4 roided out guys which equaled one of them getting their face pounded in and security jumping in the pool fully clothed. It was quite entertaining. Then some dumb girl decides to take a swing at security for no reason. She was promptly arrested. Over all a pretty entertaining experience.

So we get back to the SkyLoft and the Uncle comes strolling in with a smile on his face. Apparently the luck never stopped even once he moved to the high $ machines. He started pulling wads of $100's out of every pocket and throws a little over $40K on the coffee table. That was good for some pictures and laughs. So apparently after push the slot buttons nonstop for 7 hours he was a little tired. So instead of having to go out to eat and pick one restaurant why not choose from 6 of them? So a call is made to Evan our Skyloft butler and he comes strolling in with the menu's from just about every restaurant at the MGM. We can choose anything from any of the restaurants and it will be delivered directly to the Loft. Why would we ever leave this place???? So we ordered a TON of food. The Waygu beef from Craft Steak was highly recommended so I tried a $70 skirt steak. It was amazing. We also ordered a sushi platter. corn dogs filled with lobster, scallops, and a bunch of other stuff. If I can get those pics up you will see what we had to choose from.

So after dinner over some drinks we started talking about where to go. I made a couple calls and got us a table on the floor at LAX. A Rod over there was extremely helpful and held our table until we could get there at midnight. From there we managed to kill five bottles and I think we might have got one comped. The tab was around $2700 and again was charged to the SkyLoft. I lost a quick $150 at the Luxor and I don't know why I choose to spend any money there since my luck is terrible. We head back to the MGM and do a little more gambling and I am content with breaking even in the gambling department for the trip. Basically the whole trip ended up being free since gambling winnings covered any tips or cabs I had to pay for and the Uncle/MGM paid for everything else.

While winning in Vegas is great I felt like I won a ton after this trip. I have never had a better 3 days in all my life. We lived Vegas like high rollers. Now I just have to get my bank account to that point on my own. I should have taken Monday off of work because it was miserable and so was Tuesday. Wednesday was the first day I felt semi normal again. Anyway to summarize an incredible trip with some incredible people. If someone would let me know how to post the pics I will get on that as well. Good luck to everyone.

    Finally the report

Thanks for the follow-up. I have been waiting for this.:nworthy:

I sure wish I would have gone to Las Vegas when I was in my 20s or 30s, for that matter.

The Vegas high life is like nothing else, in my opinion. Because, it is okay to drink to excess there.

I can skip the Wet Republic. I don't need Jersey Shore wannabees and fighting.

In the old days, whenever I went to the Lazy River it was filled with the older generation and their grand kids or great grand kids. I decided I needed to get older to go there. Glad you reconfirmed those opinions.

I have golfed in Las Vegas and Phoenix, Arizona, but I have decided that anything over 103 degrees and sun is just too hot for me. I will plant myself by the pool instead.

    Sounds like a great time!
I hear you about the "three day hangover".
It takes a good 2 days of so until I am feeling back to normal after a Vegas trip myself.

Actually, I got back from a 4 day weekend in Boston on Sunday and am just starting to feel right this morning.
(Had a great time- long activity filled days followed by bar hopping at night.)
