    My Trip Report

Hey everyone, I've been reading these message boards fervently as a buildup to my trip and thanks to the really useful posters i have a good idea about what i want to do. I'll be staying in the Cosmo primarily although i have a friend coming in for the week late on 1st July.

We're going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our first trip to Vegas almost to the day in which we were here last. My friend is just about to go through a divorce so he booked up after i told him i'd signed up to a Cosmo identity mailer offer from previously. The offer i'm going in on is 3 free nights, $300 dining credit and over $2400 of identity play dating back to my last trip in September.

I'm already a Cosmo gold and need another 25k points to hit platinum on this trip, i'm going to try and attempt this by playing jacks or better in the high limit bank of machines on the 10 play at $12.50 -$25.00 per spin. The objective here is to retain as much of the identity play as possible while qualifying for platinum and retaining good offers like this. Once this has been achieved i will switch to some of my favoured slots like Wonder 4, Monster Jackpots, Airplane and probably some Wheel of Fortune.

Overall i'll have a bankroll of about $350 per day behind that and the remaining nights have been comped either through Identity play or through a new relationship at PH.

So I fly out at about 3am Vegas time from London Gatwick and should be with you all at about 2pm, i'm quite frugal despite the occasional recklessness so i'll be looking at a taxi or shuttle to the Cosmo, was offered a limo but i'm guessing that adds $50-100 to the comp value you need to make and you end up morally obliged to tip the guy as much as a taxi would cost anyways!

The wraparound terrace is my goal upon check in, for the tuesday to friday of the offer its only $335 avg per night on the website so at a casino rate it should be an easy upgrade i'd guess, otherwise i'll go for a terrace suite somewhere else i guess, not sure what the best tower combo to go for is?

I've got some myvegas comps as well which i'll be hoping to use, whiskey tasting at Monte Carlo, foundation room for 2 at Mandalay Bay, $75 off $150 at tender and 2 free buffets at Monte Carlo (although i obviously don't hear good things about this.)

Some do's on my list include

Gamble responsibly and with an eye on the prize
    Achieve Cosmo Platinum status
Achieve Diamond in a day or two days at PH
    Play some roulette
    Play some craps
Do the $200 loss rebate challenge at Tropicana
Treat friend to Wicked Spoon and The Henry / STK
Hit downtown for the first time
Post lots of action and bonuses via tapatalk
Find the slot machines Clue and Winning Bid (Any assistance in locating these are gratefully received)
    Play some swim up blackjack
    Find a lazy river ride
    Enjoy the independence day fireworks
Find some great bars for two late 30's, balding specimens
    Meet another VMB'er

And thats about all i can think of at the moment, if you've got any suggestions with anything i've mentioned above, feel free to point me in the right direction!

Thanks for looking in and obviously more updates to follow when i get there, providing i don't melt getting off the plane...

Aw don't worry about it! It adds to the somewhat tipsy quality to these trip reports. And to quote Dean Martin quoting Joe E. Lewis "You're not drunk if you can lay on the floor without holding on." Have fun!

I think I just need to take them in landscape haha I'll try that next. Absolutely awesome flight over as it was on the virgin atlantic dreamliner thingy and was half empty in economy , had the entire row to myself as I watched kingsman, hot tub time machine 2, birdman, something else that I can't remember and then half of dumb and dumber to.

Used supershuttle after a recommendation from here and it was distinctly average. More expensive the others, took about 15 mins to show up and yeah not to bad after that I suppose.

Checked in and my host didn't leave a note about getting me into a wraparound so 84 dollars a night later (which may eventually be comped) here I am looking over Planet Hollywood aria and mgm. Loving it, best room I've ever stayed in!

Gonna get my sea legs under me and head down to the casino to get my identity play loaded and grab a bit to eat. Nothing too fancy till my mate mike gets here tomorrow though, probably just holsteins I think it's called, loved that place for a quick bite last time...

So covered my identity play and am down to 2k which is a good return as I mixed it up with slots as well as video poker. Couple of good hits along the way which will no doubt appear the wrong way round haha

Love those pics. Good luck to you and your friend. Just tell him when one door closes a better one opens. My d in law walked out on my son and my eight year old grandson last month. Better times are just around the corner. -- i am a believer in the golden rule or karma. You just have to wait for it.

Couple of early morning quick hits, figure I've done about 11 hours so far so should be in line with host expectations and still have 1100 of the free play money remaining. Video poker has been kind airplane much less so! uploadfromtaptalk1435770382175.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1435770382175.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1435770407713.jpg

Off for steak and eggs at the Henry now, my diet since arriving has not been great at all!

Just to clarify, did you get this offer with $2400 in FP on your $350/day bankroll? Or are you playing much lower than normal this trip?

Vp isn't going well with 2 royals? Did I misread things? I haven't had a royal since 2012...

    Keep up the hits!

Read it again, yep I misread it! Carry on!

I can't remember my exact bankroll from last time, probably about 4k over 7 days. Last time added about 20k tier points, this time have done about 10k already, bankroll isn't the biggest determiner when you're playing slots and on a roll.

Yeah two royals has been very nice, both of em longshots!

Tried a bit more on Wonder 4 with 2 buffalo and two pompeii and turned $150 identity points play into $270 so pretty happy with that, also added another 500 tier points so after 24 hours i've added 10k points according to the identity desk. I've broken the back of it so now i just need to get 3k points per day to reach platinum which seems very doable. From the freeplay and the identity play i've got about $600 left and its nice not to have broken into my bankroll yet for sure.

Just off over to Planet Hollywood next to sort out my friends room and try their casino for the first time, i've heard good things so i'm excited!

Mate arrives at about 7.30-8pm so the champagne is going on ice ready for his arrival and the focus will switch to drinking later on.

I have no idea where i am timewise today, woke up at 3am, had a couple of hourlong naps and here i am now, i don't know if its lunchtime or bedtime!

Also i wanted to say i'm sorry to hear that VWhiten, hadn't really taken in your message at that silly hour in the morning, i think you're right and hope it all works out for the best for everyone involved!

    Currently massively hungover...

Went over to PH to check it out and promptly lost about $350 on Buffalo machines, didn't get the best vibe from the place although the cocktail waitresses seemed a bit more sluttily dressed than i was used to. Checked my friend into his room and awaited his arrival from the airport.

After he got there we wandered up to the wraparound terrace where i had beers and champagne on ice ready before we headed down to holsteins for a nice snack dinner as neither of us could work out what timezone we were in and whether we should be hungry. Checked out the Vesper bar for a drink (A very strong one!) and then moved over to book and stage for some action along with a bit of bartop video poker, hit a couple of regular four of a kinds on DDB so ended up $50 with some low rolling. Two black russians later and i was sending everyone in my whatsapp pictures of the view from the terrace and laughing cos they had to go to work... now i'm hungover and they are all finishing for the day... I deserve that one i guess.

Heading down to the Henry for some brekkie in a bit, don't think i can tackle the steak and eggs this time but looking forward to some nice food. On the agenda today, Fremont Street...
