I am thinking on my next trip adding an additional night but maybe staying somewhere that I haven’t before, and somewhere quieter… I am debating between the Signature or Vdara. Have your experiences been good at either of them? if you have stayed at both, would you prefer one or the other? Do the pools get pretty crowded early?

I can only speak for the Signature as Ive stayed there 3 times although I am also eyeing the Vdara for my next trip.

In the last 3 years, Ive stayed at the Signature in the month of June, July, and October, never ever ever having a difficult time getting a pool seat morning. noon, or night.

Each of the 3 towers have their own pool so its easy to find a spot in my opinion. The one thing I did enjoy about it was the quietness. Very laid back and relaxing, music at the right level, and good drink service. And if I felt the need to party, I had access to the MGM pool.

Nonetheless, in the three times Ive stayed there, I do not have anything bad to say about anything from the rooms to the pool to the staff.

Vdara hands down. Much newer, better location, great service staff, etc... Pool area is small by Vegas standards, but you can use Aria's pool if you tell them at the door that you're going to Liquid.

    Hi Universal,

I too have been thinking on Vdara but didn't want to be locked in to a small pool area, with or without hot tubs, etc.. I was wanting to find out if staying there ment that you could also use the pool at Aria, but your post make me think that thats only possible if you make up some story at the "door". Is that how it is? No free-range between the two hotels? More details would be heplful, Thanks for your post. JW

I don't think Vdara guests can use the Aria pool any longer, but anyone can go to Liquid and you have to pass all the other pools to get there. If you say you're going to Liquid, they'll just point you in that direction and send you on your way.

I've stayed at the Signature at least 4 times, and I have had a bad room or experience. Just remember it's like an island off the continent MGM. But that has never bothered me, since I like a room where I feel like I am away from the action so I can get some solid sleep.

Love the Vdara. Quiet. Easy access to both Aria and Bellagio. It's a terrific option. The basic rooms are fantastic, too.

Vdara has the slightly better location (IMHO), but if you're going to hang around MGM and the south end of the strip anyways, then Signature is a good choice. It's pretty easy though to walk from Signature Tower 3 up Harmon Ave to Planet Hollywood.

Both hotels are equally nice. Vdara has better cable TV and Internet service, if that's important to you.

The Vdara pool isn't all that big, and I'm not sure if you get easy access to the Aria complex or not. Signature guests get access to both the Signature pools, and the MGM pool complex.

Definitely Vdara and make sure you ask for a high floor Bellagio fountain view... It's an awesome show at night!

    Yep!

Haven't stayed at Signature, I would, but I prefer the location of Vdara. Also you can't really beat new!

Vdara by a wide margin. Signature is fine but I can't think of a single aspect that would make sig. Better.

I've visited Signature and loved the rooms and pools. Checking in at Vdara tomorrow night and will have a comparison in a few days!!!

Vdara has better rooms but there's far more liveliness at the Signature especially if taking the general MGM area into account.

Can't comment about the Signature, but it appears frequently on time share rental sites and on ebay. But we stayed at Vdara last September and really enjoyed the property. We had a deluxe room overlooking the pool, facing Aria. It was super quiet and just steps away from Bellagio and the tram to Monte Carlo. I think the location is actually a benefit. The pool area was small, but there was no problem getting a lounge chair. I believe there were a few cabanas and a hot tub. There is a deli in the lobby for breakfast or sandwiches, a little pricey, but probably average for an upscale property.

Not having a casino on premises wasn't a problem due to its close proximity to others. I guess my only complaint is that I set the bar higher for our next trip. Maybe spending our first three days at the Excalibur made Vdara seem like a palace?

I haven't stayed at either but purely based off location and it being a newer property, I'd pick Vdara hands down. Especially after seeing youtube videos of some of their rooms.

Vdara is my favorite hotel on the Strip. I don't really branch away from it as I have stayed everywhere else (aside from the Planet Hollywood....but I stayed at the Aladdin with their mustard carpets and dirty curtains, so it was in the same space as PH).

My love for Vdara doesn't mean can't be objective, however.

I will say that the Signature is a fantastic property and I've loved it the four times I've stayed there (one stay being for six nights). I have only stayed in the One Bedroom Balcony there as I like larger square footage and the whole full-kitchen aspect of hotel rooms nowadays, and I assume this room is bigger and cheaper than the City Corners, Executive Corner and Panoramic Suites over at Vdara (950/1000 Sq Ft compared to roughly 820 at V).

Both properties have terrific service and I have never had issues at either.

Many complaints about The Signature is the fact it's located off the beaten path a bit. It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Strip if you take a route that splits the MGM and the MGM Garden (and that's the quickest walk to The Strip). However, I think you're actually closer to the Monorail at Signature than if you were staying at the actual MGM.

You won't go wrong with either. If you want to save a few bucks for other things, do The Signature.

I (now) only stay in two room-types at Vdara - Executive Corner and the 2 BR Penthouse. The Executive Corner is a better set-up than the regular Vdara Suite, City Corner or Panoramic, in my opinion.

    Have fun.
