    Hello again!
I am wondering what is cheaper to arrange a shuttle from the airport to Planet Hollywood or to just take a taxi? We are having 37 people on our flight. I had the idea that we'd be fine getting off the plane and hailing taxis to the casino but am now wondering if it's going to be harder with my group size and what the price difference would be? And help again is appreciated!!

i would opt for pre-arranging. For a group that large, you could probably get a couple of vehicles to accomodate everyone.

try awg or one of the large company for a large bus

or figure 4 into 37 times 15 $ and do the math see what works out

or see what a shuttle company wants for a private shuttle

And, keep in mind that at least one person will be missing bags - and one will be stuck at a slot machine in the terminal. LOL!

It's not hard to get taxis at the airport. They have a line you get in and it moves pretty quickly.

With that large of a group, you will need at least 10 cabs. For the sake of speed, I would get everyone to pair up in groups of 3/4 each before getting in the line so as to speed things up. That way, you're not thinking of 37 people needing to get to PHo, but each group taking care of themselves. It should run about $20-30 per cab after tip. So $200-$300 total. These will get you all there quick, but maybe not all at the same time. Also, have one person in charge of each group who will tell the cabbie to go to Planet Hollywood via Paradise, which is the cheapest way under normal circumstances.

Another option wold be fo everyone to take shuttle buses. These are located on the opposite side of baggage claim and will have booths where you can pay to arrange for the shuttle to take you to your hotel. These will range from $8-$10 per person, or about $370 before tip. The advantage of this, they should be able to get you all on 2 shuttles with your luggage (pretty sure none of the shuttles can do more than 20-25 at a time.)

And my personal favorite option would be to contact one of the limo companies before leaving and arrange for 2 shuttle buses to take you to the hotel, but with a stop at the Vegas sign along the way. The "limo" rental would be for an hour and they could even arrange to meet your group at baggage claim with a sign with your parties name then take a picture of your group at the Vegas sign on the way to the hotel. Just doing a quick look, this option might be around $500-$550 before tip to each driver (thats thru Presidential, but I'd check with the others to see what they could do as well.)

At least one of the shuttle companies should have a shuttle bus big enough to take a group that size. I went once with a group of 50 or so and we had a tour bus for an airport shuttle round trip. It was part of a tour package. I take it you didn't use a travel agent to a arrange the hotel or they would have probably suggested something. I would either call the different shuttle companies starting with Bell and Showtime or try contacting the hotel concierge for a recommendation.

This is what I ended up getting quoted and it looks like a great price to me....
Canyon Coach Lines is committed to providing you with the highest level of customer satisfaction possible.
    54 passenger coach
    Airport/Hotel
    Airport Tax:$20.00
    Transportation:$203.50
    Gratuity:$50.00

Of the handful that I've emailed this is the cheapest. About $8 per person there and $8 back. And everyone on one vehicle. Yay!! Once again this board ROCKS!!!!

I do love that idea with the sign, but we are doing an actual strip tour the next day and plan to get pics there all fancied up!

Funny you say that, I just found out one of the guys in the wedding party on his last trip almost missed his flight due to not leaving the tables. HAHA He was a closet gambler until the early morning, and I loved it!

You might want to search back for some previous threads about large groups going to Las Vegas together for board member's suggestions and ideas as well as the past experiences of others - by trying to have everybody on the same bus going to and from the airport shows you have a lot of faith that you think it will all work out smoothly :) :) :)

If it were me I would be thinking about getting a bunch of limos from the airport to the hotel - cost is probably going to work out to $8-10 per person, but it gives you a lot more flexibility in dealing with people where if people are going to the bathroom after the flight or stopping at Starbucks or want to go try out the slots while waiting for luggage to come down, etc. Or even bigger stuff like if somebody misses their flight or luggage gets lost or something like that.

If you went with the limos then you would have the drivers there to help coordinate the group where as soon as 6-8 people have their luggage they can follow the driver to the car and start their way to the hotel(s) and that way if there are stragglers or "troublemakers" in the group who are wandering off or distracted by whats going on around them or stopping to do some shopping or buy a drink or something.

Irregardless of how you get from and to the airport if you are the group leader you need to be ready to take some flak and hate from the others: you really need to think about cracking the whip with a group of that size and maybe coming across as the party pooper... things like telling people "No, you can't go get a coffee now" or "Everybody went to the bathroom when we got off the plane and now you have to go? No, get on the bus and hold it until we get to the hotel or take a taxi, we aren't waiting for you" or telling somebody to hurry up and get their ass in gear because everybody else is waiting for them.
