    My Trip Report

I'm hoping to make my trip informative. I'm not close to Nate and I wish I could be like MAX.

I don't know how Nate and Max can write such detail reports.

    But here goes.

Trip is me and the SO with meeting some family at Lake Tahoe.

I was set to fly out on AA but was able to get on my Boss's Hawker 800. I love to take the jet so I guess I'll go to Graton and check it out. I called and asked what limits was and was told 100 - 5k Not bad should work. I did the same with Harrah's and MontBleu so I'm all set. I asked for $10k max and was told we can see once you get here but right now I can only offer $5k max.

So I get up late and rush to the Addison Hanger where my boss has his jet and get on. I love this plane. Anyways this is great I drive up and park next to the plane. The Pilots get my bags and I jump on the plane. They park my car in the Hanger and I can get it when I get back. I wish I could use this on my whole trip. I'll take the one way to San Fran. on his Hawker vs AA anyday.

Wife Hates the Plane thinks it is too small but we don't like TSA screen check and waiting on flights.

So we Get to San Fran and my Hertz rental is waiting so we go around The Bay area. It is freaking Cold. ok 50's to 60's

    gg bridge.jpg gg bridge 2.jpg

All in all first stop Chinatown for some Chinese food then Fisherman's Warft and Pier 39 to see the Sea Lions. ONE sea lion???? ONLY one was there WFT???

    sea lino.jpg

Ok off to get some Dungeness Crab. Really fresh as it is still alive. They will cook and cut in right in front of you.

Ok off to Somona to Graton. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge (I'll post the Pics in a little)

Long drive and traffic because of construction but still moved fast.

I get there and check into the DoubleTree. 800 Million to build a casino and no Hotel. But they had me all set up next to the golf course. ( NOT as the ones Nate Plays but will do.)

    graton casino.jpg graton cas2.jpg

I head to the Casino and NO Marker but I'm all set on VIP Preferred and FM so Not an issue.

I go get a players card and meet the Casino Host. He is not in but Host on duty comes in and tells me anything I need to call. I'm more interested in Max since tables show 100-3k

I was told 5k. She said we have to see your play first.

Fine I go to the table. It is a great set up. NICE High Limits area and friendly Dealers. I sit and clear $1200 in the first few hands and the rest of the tables is losing. I end it as they all lost like 15k to 20k.

Beats my why you would bet 3K a hand and your losing and you keep betting.

Thanks to some help on VMB. I would know to stop.

I call it since the table is wiped out and I'm the only one sitting with chip.

I go check out the golf course.

So not too bad will need to bring my clubs and play next time. Perfect weather for golf.

    So back to the casino.

I start a Baccarat Shoe it goes up and down but I finish Strong with $5k win.

    Graton chips.jpg

Done with Graton. I need sleep as I'm heading to Lake Tahoe and San Fran for lunch.

So here is the run down on Graton. The casino is very nice since it is new. Mostly Slots and has only card games for tables. Has a very nice center BAR and some very nice High end restaurants.

You can not compare this to Wynn/Encore Caesar's or Bellagio but it is still nice.

Dealers are very nice and so is the VIP hosts. They took care of my room and got me upgraded to a higher end player's card without me ever being on there property before.

I just gave the HOST my name and a few players card numbers.

It was good to play there but still an Indian casino so lower limits 100-3k on Baccarat but they will increase to 5k and I was told 10k later but not on my first trip there.

No free Booze but free soft drinks except RED BULL??? ( sure the only thing I drink besides diet or coke zero and Voss) I'm here to gamble any ways.

Will continue later. Still can't figure out how Nate and Max was able to update when they are on there TR????

Oh I will have to say when I left Lake Tahoe I told them I'm never coming back and I was going to cancel all my visits to CET and go to other properties instead because a rude person at VIP
    More on this later.

I was able to play MIDI Baccarat and it was fun and I won. I will need to come back but no rush at this time.

Here is my report on MountBleu. This is the old Caesar's in Lake Tahoe. This is a party casino. Lots of good looking girls. At night they even had Dancing girls at the Bar. There is a Night Club there so lots of people in and out and Party people.

The casino is a little smaller and only one Table gaming area. I had to ask the Pit Manager to raise the table limits. He was kind of shocked at the request and asked to see my card. He made a call and said OK. The Casino Manager Shawn came by since we talked on the phone about raising the limits. He did not have a Baccarat game open but he did have a open Blackjack table. So I sat down and got a $6k marker to start. Shawn was great and set the table limits to what I wanted and he said once this is set I can't change it MID SHOE. I said that is fine.

The Floor manager was watching me like a hawk and even got a different Dealer. He told the current dealer to tap out another person and send him over. I didn't care since the cards had not been shuffled yet so did not bother me. Then he put up a NO MID Shoe Entry.

Good I didn't want someone messing the shoe up.

I was doing great. HIt 3 Black Jacks and won a few hands and was up a few thousands. Then I got a 16 with the Dealer showing a ACE. I did the Surrender sign and the dealer said NO surrender allow.

That sucks. And of course I lost. I decided to color up and bet the last hand for the dealer. Bet the table min and my cards was 20 dealer had 8 so did the no card and he turned over the 18. I said it was his and the dealer thanked me. I asked for the Marker buy back and man the Pit manager was all over the chip count and asked how much the dealer drop how much I had. Come on..... Really

I bought the marker back and cashed out my winning chips and left.

It was pretty fun. The dealer was very nice and even pointed out I had won almost every hand and only lost 4 hands total.

I came back to MontBleu later that night to play some Baccarat but they only had a NO Commission Game. I asked if a Dragon 7 card had come up and they said no. The shoe was heavy on the Players so I got a 6k marker and started to play. Let me say it sucked I lost the first 5 hands in a row. Now i'm down.

I'm betting Player and the Bank goes on the run to even out the shoe. So I'm losing. So I switch to Bank and it is still winning so I'm getting a good part of my losses back.

There is a Side Dragon Bonus bet that I did bet and it won and the dealer took my chip. I alerted him and he said I had to win by 4. Bank 7 Player 3. Last time I check that is 4.

I said YEA DO YOU KNOW HOW TO COUNT??? He was like oh you are right sorry, but my chips is already in the dealer chip tray. He went to finish paying the rest of the table. Then he had to call the Pit Manager to tell him what happen. He came over I got paid and I was pretty mad I was going to leave. IF you can not count you should not be dealing baccarat. So they changed dealers.

I won a good part of my money back. Then some DRUNK guy come over and is talking to everyone. WE did the I don't speak english. The drunk starts to talk to the pit manager and dealer. I can smell the beer from across the table and this guy had a beer in his hand. I'm surprise he can stand up. I'm thinking I need to leave now as this guy heard me say something in english.

I make a big bet on Bank it wins I ask for my Marker back and told him it is too Loud in here. REAL reason is the DRUNK is too loud. Reason I like High Limit rooms. I get the marker back cash out and was looking around at all the eye candy. The place was packed with Hot girls.

Here is my take on MontBleu. Fun party casino. NOT for Gambling if you want to bet big. NOW this would be good for Craps but low ODDS 3x4x5. so not my game. But would be fun as lots of good Looking girls was playing.

I made a few thousands so I'm happy but did not play long.

Here is the Report on Harrah's Lake Tahoe.

I got a nice executive suite at Harrah's. OK my wife did since I had to book a DOG stay room at Harvey's. We booked both since they did not allow dogs at Harrah's and we have a service dog. I did not want to cause trouble so I always book a dog friendly room.

Harrah's did a great job in checking at Diamond registration. I got there late and my wife was able to check in there. Harvey's Diamond check in closed at 7 or 8pm. it was 8:15pm so I had to check in at the front desk at Harvey's.

These rooms are not like Wynn or Caesar's or Cosmopolitan but still very Clean.

Harrah's staff set private rooms so we could dine with our service dog. I know by law they have to let you, but I don't like to cause trouble and bother other guess. So I always asked if they can accommodate a service DOG or we can get our food ToGo.

Our service Dog is very well trained. He knows when he is on duty to just sit or lie down. He never asked for food or barks or bothers others.

So Big Plus for CET for allowing Dogs. I understand that some people may not like seeing a dog when they eat. That is why I always ask the Restaurant first.

    Ok back to gambling.

There is a few people playing BlackJack and one guy playing single 0 roulette but no one playing Baccarat so I get the shoe going. 5 Banks to start in a row. I'm doing great.

Then the shoe turns and I'm down 4k. WTF?? I'm way ahead from Graton and MontBleu so I keep going. And I"m losing. I clear commission hoping this helps. I start to win then we have a dealer change and I'm losing and winning so I just burn a few free hands and Will the dealer points out that after every Natural there is Jump on the fist change. So I bet it and it works a few hands later I'm up. Thanks to Will the dealer to point out a few thins on the chart. I have to say if it was not for Will I think I would have lost money on this round of Baccarat. Big Plus and shout out to Will and the Dealers at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.

I look up to see i have about $800 in commission again, so I throw out two purples to cover the commission and told The dealer to bet it or keep the change. Trust me They earned ever bit of this tip and some.

Will said he didn't want to bet the other dealers money since they share tips so He dropped it. I ended up winning $100. Dealers made more then me. but being down almost $5k and coming back positive I'll take that any day.

Harrah's Lake Tahoe is more for Gamblers. They have a High Limits room. 100-15k and can raise it to 25k on request. NO Eye candy. Just a lot of old people like me.

Lots of slot machines. And good limits. Oh reason I did not play Blackjack at Harrah's is NO Surrender allow here either.

All in all Harrah's is the place to gamble.

Harvey's at Lake Tahoe is a clean and pretty nice place but Baccarat was never open. Diamond Lounge is only open on weekend. Diamond registration is only open for limited hours, and no Diamond and 7 star line at Total Rewards desk????

Guess they don't have diamond or 7 star players.

But there is a Club there and Cabo Wabo there and lots of sexy women.

I was walking thru and four very sexy women in early 20's was waking by and said high to me and one even grab my arm and asked how i was doing.

I don't know what was going on at Harvey's but LOTS of good looking girls in short dress walking around.

Table limits was low except for the High limits area but they only had Black Jack going. Baccarat was closed. Guess they don't play Baccarat here.

So I did not play at Harvey's. I did walk around the place a lot to look at the eye candy.

I did play some Black jack the next day during the day and the rules are better for a 8 deck shoe at Harrah's and Harvey then at MontBlue but still NO surrender.

Won a few hundred and tipped the dealer. Did not get rated as only black chips so would lower my average after the Purples at Baccarat.

    Dealer's was very nice.
    so It made it fun.

Plus I was at a no Mid shoe entry so no one could mess up my playing.

Thanks for the updates. I love the "WE did the I don't speak english." Sometimes I think of memorizing some phrases in Russian or Polish but I know I couldn't pull it off for very long.
Some of the pictures on the Montbleu Resort website target a much older demographic than you describe.

Crossing the GGB and living to tell the tale is a win right there. For those of you who don't know, the lanes are only 10 feet wide, and there is no divider separating the opposing directions of traffic.

I grew up in one of the areas you drove through. US-101 is notoriously slow just south of where Graton is; they have been promising work on it for decades.

Welcome to California - no craps or roulette allowed. In fact, with the newer casinos, like Graton, any form of roulette, including E-roulette and "card roulette", is illegal. (E-craps is OK for some reason (although I don't think anyone has it), although Rapid / Bubble / Pop-O-Matic Craps is not.) No sports book, of course, although Graton isn't that far from Sonoma County Fairgrounds, which has satellite horse race betting.

How did you get from Sonoma to Lake Tahoe? If it was by car, I'm surprised you didn't stop at any of the other casinos along the way (Cache Creek, Jackson Rancheria, and Thunder Valley come to mind).

And how much of Lake Tahoe is still there? There's a serious drought throughout California, and it affects Tahoe tourism in the summer as the "beachside" casinos are now nowhere near the water.

Yea I was thinking the same thing as I was driving across the GGB, There could be a serious HEAD ON Crash. and people driving very fast.

I had drive to Lake Tahoe and it was not fun. Had I know I should have just had my boss Drop me off in Lake Tahoe. That drive was CRAZY. I will not do that again. I did look into the other casino's but saw no reason to stop and just headed stright to Lake Tahoe. I was going for the 4th of July weekend and I tell you the traffic to Lake Tahoe was Crazy. Good thing I got there on the 2nd. Oh I went back to Pier 39 for some more Crab and to chinatown for some dim sum and it took me 90 mins to get from Pier 1 to the Bay Bridge at 3:30pm I finally got to Berkeley at 5:15pm. The Traffic was at a stop at times. There was a Giants vs Cards game that day so traffic was really bad. I don't know how anyone can live in the Bay area.

When I did get to Lake Tahoe there was a lot of people camping and a lot of people there. I rented a boat to go to Emerald Bay and there was a lot of people there but the Lake was pretty empty. So, it was pretty nice but I'm sure it was crazy this weekend. As I was leaving there was SO many people coming in Traffic was back up all the way from Stateline all the way up the mountain and half way down. Just moving at a craw.

I only visited Harrah's, Harvey's and MoutBleu. The Horizon is closed now. They was setting up for a big Fireworks display but I was heading to San Fran to see that fire works display.

I had enough and was ready to leave.

Gargamel The web site looks like it was set for older people then what was at MountBleu but the Crowd there was A good mix but most was Young 20s to 30 year old that was there to drink and party then gamble. Most of the real gamblers was at Harrah's.

On a side note a VERY rude person a check out made me SO MAD that I said I would never go to Harvey's again or Lake Tahoe and was going to NOT go to CET anymore is how mad I got.

I'll tell this later once i get response on what the Management responds to my complaint.

I'll post some more pics later. They would not let me take pics of the casino but I got some pics outside.

This was a pretty good trip. I've cleared a little over 10k. Not Great but not too bad. Anytime you leave a casino Trip with more money then you went there with is always a good trip.

So the warm up is done. Now I need to plan another trip to Vegas. August 20th is too long. I'm going to have to go to Vegas sooner. Planning my next trip in July or early August but so mad at CET I'm not sure where I'm going to book and Stay.

The Lake is indeed a couple feet below it's natural rim and several feet below it's maximum flood stage capacity, but I can assure you Lake Tahoe is still here. I'm not sure where you got the term "beach-side" casinos, but the hotel/casinos have never been that close to the water... ever.

Mont Bleu is where you'd go to find patrons with a pulse, but does have a decent mix of folks. Harrah's and Harvey's continue to be "cotton-top" central and since they're both CET operated, it's tough to tell much of a difference between them. Former Harvey's founder and owner, Harvey Gross would turn over in his grave if he knew his old nemesis, Bill Harrah's place and his were sister properties now. Their competitive spirits fueled the business at the Lake for many, many years. The Horizon had been on a shoestring forever and the longtime (I mean 100 + years long) owners of the land, (Park Land and Cattle) did not extend the previous leases and have taken over the property. They've hired Warner Gaming from Las Vegas to come in with a sizable remodeling budget to redo the place and make a go of it.

I live right here in Incline Village and after a really crappy winter tourism season with very little snow, the summer seems to be doing quite well so far.
