My bday is on Oct 13...yay me! I have no idea how old I am turning....like I am not sure if it's an age older or two ages older. Hmmm...:evillaugh I still need to write a trip report from May. It was pretty much shopping, shopping.... and more shopping. Oh yeah and in 10 days, I may have gambled once or twice at Wynn. That's it in a nutshell. Great fun! Since then I have been bogged down with dissertation writing and teaching...so it is. But no more Only winning I left the northeast a few days early to avoid the incoming storm but so far it doesn't seem that bad. Oh well! More time for me!!:Þ I will be honest, as I have been saying for the past 2 years, Vegas is slowly getting out of my reach on a student budget. What once was the price of a room is now a daily resort fee. What once was 2-week and 3-week trips have now gone to a little over a week. Vegas will remain my favorite vacation destination until otherwise stated but I will shorten trips and/or go less frequently. I also gamble less. This is a budget thing. But it is also an internalization of the new slot life (that has always existed in my generation) where people seldom get handpays. So I treat it like an arcade and play a little every once in a while. Or play for a substantial amount of time strategically for a comp. This is my first time to be in Vegas during October and so far I am loving the weather but the prices? No bueno. For the first time in a long time I am using comp rooms I am not so excited about just to be in Vegas. I was actually here for a Janet Jackson concert on Oct 10 but that got canceled but I get to watch Celine Dion! So glad she's back! This is my first time to do a live report because I am not sure when I will have time to write the detailed ones I love. This is my first time being in Vegas on my birthday!!!
