So this past October when we were in Vegas, we stayed downtown as we have in the past. We stayed at the Cal for 4 comped nights. On our last full day, a Monday, we decided to take the shuttle bus from the Cal to Sam’s Town. This was our first time there and we spent the entire day scoping it out. One of my goals was to play enough to get some kind of an offer. Well our offer came this week. For each month in January, February and March, we have 5 nights, $50 dining a day and $75 in slot dollars per visit. I think I need to take advantage of this!

Is Cal you home base casino for your cards? We are going in 2weeks and staying at Cal and MSS(home card base). Will be going to Sam's a couple times to play there on extra point days. Was thinking of changing wifes base to Sams in hopes of getting an offer from them (all our offers now are for MSS), using her card to gamble on slots.

Sams Town has been very generous with freebees lately, it seems! We have five (5 - count 'em - 5) nights with them next month. No nights on the Strip this time. We'll prolly take the shuttle to the Strip and taxi back one night. (We will have a car but we both drink.)

There's dining credit in there too (I wonder if it's good at Billy Bob's), and a few other items like entries to a drawing (twirling index finger) and free keno crayons and such. :)

Will you tell us more about the play you gave them? Tables/slots/VP?

eaglejohn - Currently MSS is our homebase. In October we were supposed to be staying at MSS but they overbooked and moved us to the Cal. They comped us all 4 nights for our trouble.

TY - I am mainly a DDB VP player, .25 level. My wife also plays DDB VP also at .25 level but occasionally needs to take a break and plays slots for the flash and bling! We may have put through between 4 to 6K that day but I don't know for sure. We were there from about 10am to 8pm-ish with breaks for lunch and dinner.

dmr - This is the most generous offer I have ever had! It would be a shame to not take advantage of it. 5 nights at one place is a long time. We are used to moving around unless we are staying downtown. Everything is so close downtown it doesn't matter to us where we stay. I know staying at ST we can move around shuttling to downtown or the strip or we could walk to Eastside Cannery or Longhorn (never been to either of them). But that takes away from degen...I mean playing time!

Oddly I just received a mailer yesterday for 3 free nights Monday thru Thursday with $25 food credit each day. It's good at Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast and Sam's Town. I've never been to any of them. The only Boyd I play in Las Vegas is MSS at Boar's Head for a couple of pints and maybe a scratcher. Once in a blue moon I play the Sam's Town in Shreveport.

I'm normally a strip person or if I'm downtown The D. Is it worth it for me to use this offer at all? Id much rather the free nights be at MSS to be honest.

Not a bad offer! I would give one of them a try. We have stayed a lot at Orleans and really like it. We have also stayed at GC a couple of times and like it because you can walk over to Palms and Rio. The strip is a short shuttle ride away.

My understanding was that you could only receive offers from the casino you designate as your "home" casino. Could someone please explain the significance of the casino that you designate as your home casino and whether you can receive offers from multiple B Connected properties?

I can't help you with the "home casino" designation, I don't know why or how it matters. Others can help with that.

But I can tell you that we get offers from (and play at) all the Boyd casinos. Some are better than others.

    Cheers,
    Kelly

This was the experience I had. I once lived in Vegas and played Orleans frequently. I now live in Cali, and gave Fremont some play to generate offers. After nothing for three months, I stopped at the players club at Fremont and they explained that Orleans was my home, base, primary, I forget the exact word, casino, and that only they could send me offers. I filled out a form to switch to Fremont and then started getting offers. Call me confused.
