Just got home from HSI.....a person at our table in the DL said their host just informed them that the next change will be increasing the Diamond level to 40,000.....basically doing away with entry level Diamond status. Did not say when but if it does....will definitely change things for us....no interest in giving CET the amount it would cost us to earn 40,000.

Be very careful when playing the telephone game.
unless you hear it straight from the source it is hard to know if any of the message was not understood.

If it is true, then I will be giving a lot more play to one of the other rewards clubs on my Feb. Trip.

until its official,, I wont believe it...its too much of a jump and will scare off tons of money for the people who are doing the 15k tier now...and its a lot of people who are at that level

it went from 11k to 15k a few years back, i can see maybe a bump to 20k which will knock off some people but its enough others will work to get that extra 5k tier

The bump from 11k to 15k came with the tier bonuses. So it mostly just shifted the less frequent, the higher ADT players to diamond at the expense of the very frequent, lower ADT players. My mom was consistently a low diamond when STL had a CET property. 40k would be way out of her reach.

when it went to 15k, the first 2 years I dont think they had the tier bonus system implemented yet...I know a few people who barely make the 15k mark, I actually have to go play on my girls card to get her last 1,000 points before years end, I have no problems doing it every year myself, but some people have said with the decline in offers, instead of both of them getting a diamond card which they barely make, they are just going to play on one card, only reason they make diamond is to visit the diamond lounges when they travel...even know a guy real well that is quite wealthy but only plays on his wifes card now to get her 7* as he said benefit wise its no longer worth it to him for 2 cards, and this guy has been 7* since day 1 and Noir for a few years.

thats my opinion though, dont see a massive jump like that at all, 20k would be a smart move to make more money but 40k will really hurt them

20K would be pretty steep. I hit diamond for the first time last year over a span of two 5 day trips. I'm at 23,000 TC for the year, though some of those were from the 1.5X promotion January - March 31 and some were a booster in the fall. So I probably earned closer to 18 or 19K. If it went to 40K I would think about going elsewhere, though as long as my freeplay and comps stayed the same, the diamond benefits wouldn't really affect me that much. I've been getting my resort credits comp'd anyways and the rest of the perks are not really that great.

With that said, I spent A LOT more this past year trying to get the 1,000 in a day bonus some days and pushing towards diamond, with reaching it as a goal. I even pushed my November trip to January since I knew I wouldn't get the 17,000 extra points in November to go up a tier, so it was better earning points in January when I'm back to 0. So yeah, the status being at 15,000 encouraged me to spend money. 40,000 would probably mean my play would drop a bit. 20,000 I'd still strive for and wouldn't be that difficult to hit, as long as the Canadian dollar settles down a little and the freefall stops.

    Just to clarify.
You understandibly called this "from the mouth of a HOST" a rumor.
From some person at a table is very much a rumor.
Always fun to see about rumors..

That's a pretty significant jump and I doubt CET would make such a radical change, unless they planned to offset it with a difference in the TR credit earning rate. I think we will see more tweaks, like the rollback of tier eligibility period being reduced by 60 days. Shifting it from ending on March 31st to Feb now.

That being said, I would welcome a change because IMHO they have flooded the TR system with Diamond players with the new 'bonus' system. This has completely de-valued the status. At HSI for example they no longer have a Diamond line for most promotions since they have a disproportional number of diamond players. Sometimes the Diamond lines for buffet, total rewards, etc exceeds the standard Gold player lines. Not to mention the Diamond lounge is packed with players coming to graze when they roll out the hot food, you might as well forget about getting in the lounge on a weekend after 5:30pm.

So for a guy like me. I fully welcome the increase in TR earning requirements at least to the 25K level.

I love the idea. With the bonus system CET added a couple years ago, it made it way too easy for everyone & their grandmother to hit Diamond making that level way over saturated. Don't forget that little promo that pretty much insulted the people who actually gamble while in Vegas, the Founders card where you can get Diamond status by merely paying a few hundred bucks. Sure hope it happens I'm all in, for those who have a problem with it, there are other casino properties you can give your business to.

. my big problem with cet is they use your rc before they before anything else. if i earned other comps they should use them and let me use my rc's when and if and how i want without dealing with a host. also there so tight on table players notsure if they go above 20k ill bother they dont really give me anything .at 15k i get nothing. i do betwen 25-35k tier points each year but mlife is so much better but now the took the ecs from table players away is a big differnce but a host at mlife still can comp alot more for than cet and i dont have to actualy be staying there

if im not staying at a cet prop i cant walk into cet and ask for anything there just so tight everything is tied to a room stay.

Guessing, and again - no facts - that this is what somebody read and made a bad assumption or understanding.

As another said - until they get facts, it is just another rumor.

I highly doubt they will deviate from the notice they emailed out last week to CET customers with the 2016 TR program benefits and Tier Levels. Maybe for 2017?

I could see them taking away the bonus structure as is today, but obviously it is created to raise revenue. Basically it seems to me that CET TR sweet spot is 1,000 TR credits a trip and higher since that is the level they
match 100% the TR credits earned. When I think about 2016 play, I keep telling myself I should move to a total VP model of $2 VP single line hand or $5.25 quarter multiplay and try to focus on higher point sessions.

This of course would be offset by any Royals by ending the gaming session. I followed another blog where a $2 VP player was able to hit Seven Stars at this formula with around 95.4% payback in a year.

Given the condition of things with the bankruptcy proceeding, I believe cash flow is of high concern to them. Secondary to that is cost reduction, so they are not going to make any radical moves to piss off the core player base.
MGM has taken the approach of f you to the midtier and lower tier gamblers.

Yeah, I mean look at all the promos CET does to try to get people to reach Diamond, the daily TC bonuses, the promo they did in Q1 of this year where they gave a 50% bonus on all the TCs you earned in the quarter, the free TCs they hand out towards the end of the year.

The 15,000 TC Diamond level costs them $30/night in resort fees and the $100 dinner, and the Diamond Lounge access. You gotta believe they wouldn't be doing all these promos if it didn't have the desired effect of getting people to play more than they otherwise would. I wouldn't expect them to raise it, I'd expect their next move to be the same thing Cosmo and MGM have done which is to take away RCs and/or TCs for table play.

I emailed one of my hosts and asked him about the increase, he would not confirm or deny and said he would email me should there be any changes.
