Once again great tr! Pains me to see how the Taj has gone. It once used to be the place to be when I was younger and remembered when it opened when my parents used to take my sister and I there.

    Nice report and hits!

Two quad Aces on triple bonus from holding one card and a royal? Pretty good there!

What a great trip. Love those Deltas. Hope this will be a start for a flurry of royals for you.

Nice wins! Nobody goes to the Taj anymore for three reasons: 1.) They declared bankruptcy and people are afraid of losing comps for their play, 2.) They did away with health insurance and pensions for their employees and players are really angry about that, and 3.) A lot of people have a problem with Donald Trump right now (for various reasons) and even though he doesn't own the casino anymore it still has his name over the door. Once legal issues get sorted out, Carl Icahn plans to invest a couple hundred million in the place to spiff it up to its former grandeur.

Are you hinting they break NJ law with regards to VP? I have wasted a lot of time arguing that on videopoker.com. But I can't prove they are breaking the law.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were messing with the VP. Their hold is ridiculous now that they are going through bankruptcy.

The legal issues I was referring to, though, are the court cases about the canceled employee benefits, which the employees sued over. The employees have also been shining boycott messages on the side of the casino at night to drive away customers because of this problem. That's been effective, because as customers we all love the employees at the casinos. They are what make our visits so special.

Honestly, I think people avoid the Taj- including myself and I'm there quite often- is because it, ineloquently stated, sucks. It's extremely dated, looks exactly like what I'm imagining it did in the late 80s/early 90s, and nobody is there. The fact that nobody is there is because nobody is there if that makes sense- people all started leaving in droves over a year ago and that was exacerbated as no new folks came in. It's just a crew of regulars who've been going there for years and will continue to do so notwithstanding the litany of issues. I think also the point about who knows what the comps will mean is also valid though, if you're going to gamble and don't know if you're points will be worth anything one month to the next why bother. Plus the location has become worse since it's down there pretty much by itself since Revel, Showboat, etc closed.

I went walking around in the Taj over 4th of July weekend and I didn't think it looked so bad. My wife stayed there a few months ago for a business conference and she liked the Chairman Tower. I think the "rundown" and "outdated" accusations are a little overblown. The legal issues and questions about comps are mostly the problem in my opinion.

    Hey Now!
They need to run some more promos at the Taj. I liked the one for free play/ food comps after a year of non-play on their card.
