Craps! A hot table is the best time you can have at a casino. When I started gambling over 20 years ago, started with BJ and roulette. They are more slow-paced, and not as intimidating as craps.

I guess so....!! Especially when the table is busy, there aren't that much chairs. Everyone is reaching over each other, lol!

Here's another reason I prefer craps. I get to do something that affects outcome, in this case, throw the dice. In roulette they don't let me spin the wheel....:thumbsup:

You throwing the dice really affects the outcome???? Sorry - just kidding, I dont want to start that thread again:evillaugh

Talking about roulette and people reaching over each other etc reminds me of a story.

A few trips ago I got it in my mind that I needed to have the top chip on the stack on my big numbers inside (7,17,27 if you were wondering). So if I put a few chips on a number and then someone else put theirs on top I would toss another chip on top again.

Of course sometimes I would end up putting 3 or 4 more chips on a number - if you were at a fun table it became a bit of a game among the players and (mostly) the staff at the tables would be fine with it. From time to time it paid off quite nicely having extra chips on, and sometimes other players were along for a ride on a hit they otherwise wouldnt have been part of, because they had thrown a chip on just to make me go again..

I tended to tip a little better after one of those hits though as the poor croupier sorted the chips into piles so he could calculate payoffs:wink2:

Yeah, I'm one of those who feels the dice are all random, however it's so much fun when there's a heater going on, and I happen to be the roller!

That game you play with other players at the roulette table can be expensive, lol! but I can see how it can be fun, especially when it hits!:thumbsup:

LOL. Yes, this. This is me most of the time, I come off of a nice craps session, and say F--- it, I'm gonna drop a "big" bet or two on black, just to juice up my winnings, and end up getting worked.

Its craps for me. For me, NOTHING can match the energy of a hot table...the high is indescribeable.

As for roulette, the comedian Dave Attell said it best on the insomniac comedy tour special....It went something to the effect of "I picked a number, they spun the wheel, and my number won! Nice, what did they pay you with? candy?"

Hmm, I find BJ much more intimidating! To each their own, I guess.

But to the original question, craps all the way. If you are at a craps table with a hot shooter it is by far the most fun you can have on the Casino floor.

Craps is the best game in a casino bar none.

BJ and Craps are intimidating for different reasons IMO. BJ for a newbie is intimidating because of the effect of your decisions on other players. (Save the speech about negative/positive impact). Each decision you make can effect everyone else playing. This is easily overcome though by seeking out an empty table to play at where you can go at your own pace and don't have to worry about anyone else.

Craps on the other hand is intimidating due to the number of bets available and their inherent differences (one roll bets, come bets, pass, don't pass, odds, place bets, hardways, etc.). Add that with other odd things, such as 7 is good on the come out but bad after it, and it can be intimidating game to a newbie simply for the appearance of complexity. Of course once you've played you realize that it's a much simpler game than the felt layout would have you think. However outside of the superstitions on the craps table, there's no worrying about anyone but yourself. As long as you don't put your hands down when the dice are coming or say seven, you'll be fine.

Roulette, I've just never gotten into craps and with roulette I've been lucky playing the 3 thirds and winning playing roulette, so that's probably more why I'm biased. I mostly play blackjack though.

Craps...much faster pace and the vibe is great when points are hit over and over....at a roulette table it isn't as common for everyone to be happy about the result of a spin. Plus craps dealers seem to be more/vocal fun in general

    Craps, by a wide margin.

Roulette is fun if you want take your $20 in reds leftover from another table game that you want to try to double up before heading to the cage. If you miss your $20 bet on Red, no worries it was just $20 , but if you hit, you've just bought yourself a buffet dinner.

Craps is the most fun in game in the whole casino. All it takes is to get your chips down on 1 hot shooter. There are highs and lows in Craps, but it gets the adrenaline pumping more than any other game.

I love to play craps especially at a good table where a few numbers are hit and everyone is yelling and hand slapping. I cannot play roulette as I think it is boring.
Played a lot of craps at the PLaza, Golden Gate, Las Vegas Club and Fremont last month. I used to play at the Gold Nugget, but their dealers are snobs. Had the best time at the Plaza as we were hitting numbers and having a good time. Win some lose some the Plaza was more fun than the rest and the pit critters were some of the best, not trainees.
