This is my first time staying there, but I got offered a comp room so I figured I would step it up (usually do Planet Hollywood). It's midweek in August, and I never get offered a room at Caesars so I'm assuming they aren't very full when I am there. I have a Palace Deluxe room, which I am fine with. However, I like to play the $20 lotto at the desk. What should I ask for?

I'm assuming people will ask what I want, and I don't really know. Overall I'm not really that picky about what I want, for me the room is just a place to sleep so convenient location is good, but my wife likes a view and a comfortable room, she will spend more time there that I do. Mostly what is the best option that I would realistically have a shot at.

    Thanks!

I would ask for a fountain view room in the Augustus tower. If that's a no go then anything in the Augustus or octavius towers. I prefer Augustus because it is closer to the strip.

Ditto on the Augustus/fountain view. I did that exact thing.... At checkin, smiled and asked if an upgrade is possible with the $20. She replied if the service was acceptable and I received everything expected, she would accept the "tip".

Depends on what you like to do. The Palace Tower
is right by the pool, the Conference Center, Payard, and
the buffet. If they offered you an upgrade to a Palace Tower
suite - they are very nice. The Augustus Tower is great. Close
to the Strip going out the Laurel Collection side door, the American
Cafe, the lobby, and the Diamond Lounge. The Octavius Tower
is right by the Garden of the God's pool and the buffet. The newly remodeled
Julius Tower is right off of the casino floor by the cashier's cage and the Forum
Tower is on the other side, right by the Forum Shops, the food court, the Coliseum.

All the rooms in Caesar's are fairly nice. Just depends on what you enjoy most.
If you are a pool person and like to hang out there more, Octavius would be the way
to go or Palace Tower. If you want easier access to the Strip and
a Strip view- Augustus all the way.

I would say mid week in August you have a very good chance of an upgrade. Flat out tell em you have $20 if they can upgrade you to an Octavius or Augustus. It's actually easier to get Octavius even though its a newer tower because people want the Augustus rooms with Bellagio views plus they are closer to casino. This was according to the fine people at Caesers check in. So I suggest asking for either.

Augustus and Octavius towers have a separate check in desk so I don't think the Palace Tower check in desk person will be able to do that upgrade. For $20 I wouldn't expect more than a room at the end of the hallway that's quiet or a nice view.

Pretty sure the separate check in for Laurel towers is closed. And any check in clerk can upgrade you if the variables are right.

Since you're already comp'd in the Palace Tower, I would suggest asking for a Palace Tower Petite Suite.

It's not an actual suite with separate bedroom. But it is over 700 sq ft and has a comfortable sitting area.

The highlight is the His and Hers bathrooms. The His has a separate toilet room, sink, and its own toiletries.

The Hers has a huge soaking tub, sink, it own toiletries, and separate toilet room with a drinking fountain(I believe the French call it a bidet:).

In between the bathrooms is a huge shower with individual faucets and shower heads on opposite walls. The shower is accessible from both bathrooms.

It's not a stretch as far as upgrades go at Caesars. If I'm not already booked into it, I always seem to get it as an upgrade by being nice, friendly and smiling. I suppose Diamond status doesn't hurt either.

$20 trick worked for me in February, got me Augustus Tower with fountain view. I wasn't shy at all about asking for exactly what I wanted, and she was able to give it to me.

Loved the Octavious tower last November. I didn't mind the extra walking to get back there as it is away from the normal hustle and bustle.

i've stayed in the roman, forum, palace, augustus, and most recently, the newly renovated julius tower

julius is the old roman tower that has been renovated, right?
although all the furnishings were new, the room was oddly shaped and didn't feel right
the windows are smaller(?) as well compared to the other towers
it's convenient since the elevators are right by the casino cage
but i wouldn't stay there again

staying in octavius tower on my next visit
