Have you stayed there recently? Many on Trip Advisor advises against staying there BUT my friend is a Baseball Umpire and he's being put up there over a weekend in April. He's invited me along. I can get comped elsewhere Sunday thru Thurs but not Fri-Sat. Not fussy but want a clean room with decent mattress. I'll rent a car so will likely play at Sams too. The big question...are rooms OK or should they be avoided at all costs?
    TYIA!

Not sure what the inside of the rooms look like, but I can tell you for certain the general area and clientele is sketchy at best... druggies, homeless hanging around the general area and bus stop and that's during the day time. I have been playing bingo there for years ( rent a car and stay on the strip), The rooms are all drive up/walk up so not much security if any. Have seen the police there a few times in my travels and that's just in a two minute walk from the parking lot. In the past two years while I was visiting they pulled a dead guy out of one of the rooms at AC Boulder, and this past September, a body stuffed in a manhole just down the street. Since you are so close to Sams and will have a car, I would check rates for Sams or Eastside Cannery, right next door to Sams. It's not more than a 5 minutes parking lot to parking lot drive from either of those properties to AZ Charlies, and worth the peace of mind with interior rooms. Your buddy might want to reconsider moving down the street too, just my opinion.... but I am going with avoid at all costs!!

    Good luck and have fun!!

We flew standby last April and got bumped, first room we found in Boulder had bed bugs. Everything else was $300 or more, on a Saturday night. Other then the area, it wasn't the worst room I ever had. Bed was ok and room clean. Kinda like a dingy Four Queen's room.
