    Hi All,

I received an offer from a Marketing Representative at Mandalay Bay for 3 Nights in Deluxe Room + Resort Credit + Freeplay. When I stayed at MGM last spring, my stay was offered by a host and to upgrade rooms I would've had to pay a premium.

The marketing rep sent this to me, "I have you arriving on "" for 3nts @ room complimentary per the promo offer.

So my question is, if I asked would it be possible for an upgraded room for a "tip" or will I run into same issue as if a host booked my stay?

I have not had good luck with an upgraded comped room. I offered to pay difference a few times, and it was way too expensive.

I say take a shot. A $20 tip offer wouldn't hurt. I do it every time I visit, but I stay downtown, and maybe it's easier there. My host always books my room, and I seldom have a problem upgrading.

Would I just call VIP and ask them that? Also what do you mean by ATM?

I was recently in Vegas, stayed at MGM on comped room...was given a Tower One Bedroom and I asked for an upgrade to a City View Suite and they just gave it to me...never hurts to ask :)

I have done it before with a comped room at Aria, PH and Caesars.

I am going to try again next month at Aria.

    Never hurts to try.

I've had much better success getting comp rooms upgraded on the front end, rather than at check in. A simple call to the on duty hosts has resulted in a 100% upgrade rate. I have been put in suite every time. I have never been upgraded at the front desk on a comp, despite asking every time. It never hurts to call...

So I called and they couldn't apply because the end date will be on the 28th, which is before my scheduled arrival. Thanks for the tip though!
