We have been talking about going on a road trip in late September to see the USA and ending up in Las Vegas for a few days and then heading back home. We will be staying at Windsor on a comp and then I am thinking of driving to Kansas City and staying at the CET property the next day as it will be on a comp. After that I really do not know which way to go or if there are any other CET properties a days drive away.

Has anyone done the drive from Windsor and do you have any suggestions of where to stop or sightsee etc. I feel 2 weeks should be enough time to do this but am not sure.

I haven't done it, but have often considered it. So right now I'll be living vicariously through you. For me, I'd take 3 weeks, but that would just be to give me lots of time to travel there, spend a week on an exchanged timeshare week (because I think I'd need that after the drive there and to psych back up for the drive home), and then a no pressure drive home. I'd even contemplate going a different route home - ie. by way of AZ, NM, etc.. Just to see some different sights.

On my radar would be to stop at the St Louis Arch and get some pictures there. St. George Utah is also a must stop for me.

I did the drive from the west coast so totally different route, but I'll still make a suggestion. Windsor to Chicago, spend a night there. Then travel northwest up to the Black Hills to see Mount Rushmore. One night there...be sure to visit Deadwood. Then straight west to Yellowstone to see Old Faithful. One night there. Then south to Vegas via Salt Lake City. Couple nights in Vegas then head back on a different route. Grand Canyon, Alburquerque, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Indianopolis are pretty much on the same interstate highway heading back east. 2 weeks would be tight depending on how much time you want to spend in Vegas and then all those other cities. Kinda like the Contiki tours in Europe...couple of hours in one city then on to the next! It would still be a fun trip to go thru so many different places but again, not much time to take them in.

Too fun.....I like DBear's itinerary. Had a buddy who did his whole road trip with a theme for each stop. He chose true barbecue and searched out the best for each night's stay.

    ( I'd probably do breweries ) :drunk:

A couple of summers ago my brother and a couple of other guys did a motorcycle trip to New Orleans and the plan was to spend each night in a Harrahs property comped. We stayed in Windsor, Elizabeth, Tunica etc. The only night we did not get comped was when we took a side trip to Vicksburg.

I was thinking of doing the same thing driving west with a destination of Vegas but I do not see a lot of Harrahs properties after Kansas City. Bear gives me an idea that maybe I will do the Indianapolis, St. Louis, Oklahoma etc. route down and the north route back. I guess I will be doing a lot of planning between now and then but again I am open for any suggestions. Thanks to those who have replied.
