According to LVA this deal is dead; not yet confirmed, but from a reliable source.
Too bad, no need to visit Riv now...

I couldn't convince anyone in my group to make it out there with me while we were in town. Sucks cause it was such a great deal.

Yes, now gone from website. Apparently there was a poster in the casino stating that 13 July was the last day for the promotion.

I had pencilled this in for the next trip but was not really expecting it to last until October! Great offer while it lasted, even with the restrictions.

I could see people making a lot of money off of this deal, and Riv shelling out lots of comps!!! I wondered how they were able to do it in the first place.

Very simple... Player Development.... There is an ongoing issue with the lack of foot traffic at the Riv. This offer was bringing in folks that would play, and then in theory return to comped rooms, play more and increase the long term bottom line by becoming regulars.

It is a calculated gamble, especially for a property like the Riv, because MANY players will return simply for the rebate, play through it, burn their comps for lunch and never return to the property due to location, age, lack of atmosphere, property limitations etc.
