I'm considering staying at the Rio or Palms or Palms Place during Memorial Day weekend. Which of these properties has the best nightlife for someone in their 30s looking to hook up with different ladies every night?

Back when Tony Marnell owned Rio, that was the place to see, be seen and hook up. Today it would be Palms by a landslide. Lots of hot gals clubbing it on weekends and I'd imagine Memorial weekend would be no different.

Oh, and I would suggest Palms over Palms Place for what you're looking for.

The simple answer in terms of nightlife is none of the above. The Voodoo Lounge at Rio offers a nice view for a cocktail but is often a dead zone when it comes to people. The Palms used to be a nightlife hotspot but the times have changed and both of their major nightspots Moon and Rain are closed and out of operation, leaving only Ghostbar which is decent but nothing to write home about.

I'd suggest looking elsewhere to stay or at a minimum cabbing it to the strip for MUCH better nightlife!

Are there any specific properties you would single out based on the quality of the night life?

Strip Properties? What kind of night life are you into? Do you prefer nightclubs or lounges/bars? What demographic are you looking to party with, 20s, 30s, 40+?

If you're looking to stay at a property with a nightclub on site than rule out Excalibur, NYNY, Monte Carlo, the Quad, Flamingo, PH, Ballys, Harrahs.

Don't necessarily need to be a club on site to enjoy the club though. The top clubs being XS at wynn/Encore, Marquee at Cosmo, Hakassan at MGM, Light at Mandalay Bay. Some clubs that aren't considered top tier that I have enjoyed are LAX at Luxor (good hip hop if you like that opposed to EDM), Tryst at Wynn (great indoor/outdoor setting), Pure at Caesars (also good indoor/outdoor setting).

Some cool places with good bar settings Harrahs with Carnival Court (great if you're looking for cougars 30+), same with Cleopatras Barge at Caesars, PBR Rock at at PH (great just party hard location), Chandelier at Cosmo (nice classy refined place to grab a drink as well).

    Rio

To directly answer your question the Rio. You get a large suite room no matter what floor with a fridge. As for location you can walk from there to the palms and check out both party spots or take the free shuttle to mid strip.

Rio has Voo Doo party beach and top floor roof top night club. Palms has many night clubs you can visit.

I have heard the beach/pool scene is decent at Rio. Personally never been.

As for Voodoo nightclub, it is poor at best, never much of a crowd. And as for the nightclubs at Palms, they don't exist. Both Rain and Moon are closed. Only Ghostbar is open and that is more lounge than club.

Edited with link to closures. Moon just recently, Rain in 2012.

Palms and Rio are just across the street from each other so you can stay and play at both easily. As for Palms vs. Palms Place it really doesn't matter, you have access to the clubs regardless. PP has some great rooms and suites. Separate check in, separate pool (but you can use both pools). On weekends Voodoo can be pretty good.

Palms Place is a condominium hotel, where Palms manages the properties for the owners. The only bar there is Rojo Lounge. A quiet place for a cocktail

It does have Simon's restaurant which I put out a report on last May.

The spa is a little higher end. The pool there is the quiet pool.

At the Palms, the only club left is the Ghost Bar top of the Palms Tower.

You can meet women at the Center Bar which is now a whiskey bar that are going to the clubs.

The best way to meet women is to go to the pool on Friday or Saturday or Sunday and then invite them to the club or meet them in the club.

The Palms Pool rocks. And it really rocks on Friday. Friday the pool is open to the public, whereas every other day, the pool is for hotel guests.

Rio probably has more crowds and I would not know where the ladies hang out. It has Voodoo Lounge which used to be a darn good party lounge.

Gold Coast which is between the two properties caters to grandparents and it has a 90 lane bowling alley. AFAIK, there are ZERO young women at Gold Coast.

If you really want the young women you want Marquis at Cosmo or XS at Wynn. All of the young beautiful people go there and get really sloppy drunk.

The high end restaurants at Palms are way better than anything at Rio or Gold Coast. N9NE, Alize, Nove Italiano, or Simon's are all good. My favorite is Alize.

Yes and no. There are 1 and 2 bedroom condo units in PP that are owned by individuals and PP manages them. But some of those units were not sold and are still owned by the Palms and are rented out. And there are studio suites at PP as well that you can book. 600 sq feet, same size as the Rio rooms (nicer though).
