The Deluxe suites are the basic room. The Luxury suites are what used to be called Samba Suites. They have more of a modern and colorful decor, but are basically the same in size, etc as the Deluxe suites. Neither are true suites, just large rooms.

I stayed in Masquerade suite, up level to Samba room. Rio claims to be all suite, but really just large rooms. If you choosing between the standard and the Samba, take the Samba, they are newer and nicer.

Have a great trip and good luck!!!!

I know you didn't ask about this but it's good piece of info to know if you enjoy cleaning up in the spas after a fun stay: Your resort fee covers two spa passes. One of the only resort fees that provide actual value to the guests!
