Can someone explain the difference between the Masquerade and Carioca suites- looking at the photos on Rio site Masquerade has the jetted tub near the window overlooking Vegas but i see post that the Carioca has a jacuzzi tub. maybe the jacuzzi tub is in the bath? i only ask because i can get an upgrade to either for cheap but my wife wants the one with the tub near the window

#1 youtube is your best friend. Videos of both types of suites up there. I stayed in a Masquerade Suite years ago.....they are 1600 sq ft apartments! They are located in the taller Masquerade tower and are located one on each end....total wraparound the building suites. We loved it. We called the bathroom a bowling alley ;) check out the videos.

My observations ( which could be wrong ) were that the Carioca Suites were in the Ipanema Tower....many people have a preference as to which tower to stay in. Ipanema elevators are located closer to the pool. Masquerade Tower elevators are located closer to the parking garage. I haven't stayed there in a number of years. At the time of my last stay the Ipanema rooms were more recently renovated. Preference to which side of the casino you spend more time at also. I would love either suite the Carioca as I remember were very nice 2 room suites where the Masquerade were more sq ft and felt like a kitchen ( wet bar and table ) living room, bedroom, huge bathroom area....really felt like an apartment the sq footage is just tremendous plus the views....wrap around windows throughout.

Masquerade has that tub by a window. When I stayed many years ago it was not remodeled though. So, I would choose Carioca, as they were remodeled. I think I have that old Masquerade suite picture on this site somewhere.

Masquerade suite 2004. These rooms have to have been remodeled since then. You can kind of see the layout.
