This may be moved to the Off Strip forum.
I loved the Voodoo Beach pools at Rio when i was there. They have 4 pools, one with a sandy beach and a couple with waterfalls. They also have the Adult pools at Voo for 21+. Also some sauna's. The Voo beach has live DJ's from Thurs-Sun. Rio used to have a topless pool in the adult area but no longer.
They serve drinks and food of course or you can go up to the counter. If you plan on buying some things like lotion, hats, etc, do it at Walgreens , CVS, etc, the pool shop is really expensive.
Make sure you get a chair early, the Rio pool fills up quickly.
The sandy beach pool is more relaxing than the main pool, but i went in May, so there weren't many kids around the sand, so it was quiet and relaxing, and i was there from Sun-Thurs. I imagine June will be different, but i had a nice cozy spot at the sandy pool close to the waterfall (parents wouldn't allow their kids near the waterfall, too dangerous). Also, the adult pool was only open Thurs, so i had just one day there, but they play music for a younger crowd while the main pool/sandy beach pool had generic music for the masses over the loudspeaker.
I wished the Rio was on the Strip, although the Rio shuttle to Bally's/Harrah's was a nice touch, i still spent most of my time on the Strip. Now i only use the shuttle to Rio and then walk over to Gold Coast for the buffet.
I had a room over looking the pool and strip, so i had an idea on when the pool area was starting to fill up, then i knew it was time to get down there and grab a lounge chair and a spot.
My room was on the 8th floor in the Ipanema Tower. The Ipanema Tower is great if you use the shuttle, if you have a car, the Masquarade Tower closer to the parking garage.

I like the Rio pool(s). It's definitely not a big party pool like many others. We always get there early, near when they open at 9 and are done by noon at the latest so we don't really have to deal with any crowds.
