    Hey there.....

Having not been at Rio in many years, thinking of a stop by during my next trip in April. As i recall, VP was not real good there years ago, the CW outfits went away (tear to my eye) and the replacement CW entertainers took over (that was painful I thought), more tears. And the free show in the sky is now gone (that was a fine show as i recall).

So, can you share your thoughts on how the casino is these days and of course, what can I expect with VP play. No info on the hotel/rooms needed as I'll be camping out at Bellagio for 4 nights. I pray the CW old outfits have perhaps returned.....could it be?

    Mucho apprecaite

Rio vp sucks. It is no different than CZR vp at any of their other properties. Terrible pay tables. Idiots still sitting there playing. If you want good pay tables go next door to the Gold Coast. Great vp at the GC and 2 great Chinese restaurants to boot!

Rio actually has a bank of FOUR, 8/5 BP (99.17%) that only require $10 per TC...so by default, Rio has the "best" video poker at CET in Vegas...

Yeah Rio is slightly better than other CET Vegas properties because of that. They also have 40/10/6 DDB (99.96%) at the 3/5/10 play dollar level for $50 a TC.

But anything under the dollar level, you're stuck with 7/5 bonus (98.01%) being the best option.

Generally speaking the best VP at the Rio is the walks to Gold Coast/Palms.

Which is the same game at all CET properties in Vegas...so saying "Rio sucks for VP" is simply not true (it's the same or even BETTER than others)
    And I agree..Gold Coast FTW!

I typically play the 3/5 play $1 9/5 JOB at the PHo, but I may check this out in June if I'm there for the WSOP. I like racking up the 2,500 points quick (for an additional 5,000), and PHo gets me in and out in a few hours.

My favorite game is 3-5 line quarter or dollar. With the tax implications of dollar play (gross winnings taxable in Illinois), I prefer quarters from here on out.

In Vegas, at the dollar level, you have Excalibur and MGM at the 3/5/10 $1 level for 9/6 JOB (VP Free lists Bellagio with a $2 version but I couldn't find it last month), and $1 10 play at the J.W. Marriott and Luxor.

At the quarter level, South Point and Palms offer $0.25 3-5 line quarter 9/6 JOB, and I will likely be hitting both more in the future. I can play single line quarter or dollar, but I get bored with a long session unless I'm playing at a bar.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I know the palms well and GC. Just thinking of trying a different sitting and the Rio came to mind. I noticed no comments on the CW so i presume they never returned to their old outfits. Sad, very sad

I can't think of a single reason that I should visit Rio these days.
