    Trips to Las Vegas:
I ate at Bacio last Sunday on my way South to watch the Santana show @ MB.

I was there pretty early ~ 5:30ish, but did not go with the "Prefix" menu.

The restaurant is up the escalator from the main casino, and in keeping with the new indoor decor at Tropicana, is painted almost entirely white. It has several tables on an indoor "patio" facing the corridor (I believe the walkway leads up to the hotel), and then an interior. Ends up looking quite simple and elegant.

Service was excellent and prompt all night.

I started off with a Moretti to drink. That is an Italian lager, and was pretty good. It won't make it on to a favourites list, but I would order it again.

For the appetizer, I began with the Arancini. Per the menu "Parmesan Risotto Croquettes stuffed with Fresh Mozzarella Cheese and Parma Prosciutto"

Per that description, I was kind of expecting smaller balls with a somewhat crunchy exterior, and a soft gooey middle. The real thing turned out to be a single larger croquette. There was not much of an exterior crust, just a thin layer holding it all together, and then you were into the risotto.

Despite not being quite what I had in mind (which is likely more my fault then theirs), it was delicious. It was served with a marinara sauce on the side.

For the main course, they had a special, a Lamb Chop stuffed with Mozzarella and Spinach. It was sinfully good, complete with a delicious reduction for a sauce.

To accompany that, I switched to wine, and had a glass of the "Il Borro", a very nice Syrah.

I did not have room for dessert, so I had a coffee and was on my way.

The check came out to about $85 before tip.

Overall, I'd say the experience was excellent, and I would definitely eat there again. If the price seems steep to some, I'd definitely check out the "Prefix" menu, as it would be far cheaper that way.

On my patented completely arbitrary scale: 4.5 stars

Thanks for an excellent review. I have dined a Carla Pelligrino's other restaurant, Bratalian, and truly enjoyed our meal. Any one interested in trying Bacio should consider visiting a tix4tonight kiosk where they can obtain a 50% off an entree discount for $3 per person.
