    My Trip Report

Back to Vegas for a professional conference last week at the Wynn. Booked 5 free nights at Caesars, Augustus Tower with fountain view.

    Food:

Our usual arrival dinner at Sushi Roku - Excellent as usual. Their sushi is just so fresh and good, never disappoints.
Dinner at DOCG before Britney Saturday Night, I loved it, great pizza and pasta.
Lunch at Red 8, another favorite.
Finally got to try Heritage Steak, and I really enjoyed it. We split a 32 oz dry-aged ribeye with a truffle crust. It was prepared perfectly and incredibly delicious. Bartender made some awesome craft cocktails too.

    Entertainment:

Took my wife to see Britney's show. There was not even a pretense that she was singing, it was just a big karaoke show, ridiculous. The sets and effects were nice, I guess.
Work event at XS one night, it was nice to be in there with no crowd and could sit at whatever VIP table I wanted! And free booze!

    Weather:

Cloudy and cold in Vegas the whole time. One day it hailed. Yes, hailed. So no pool time this trip.

    Gambling:

Managed to squeeze in a lot of VP. Exploits to follow!

Made the mistake of starting my VP sessions at Caesars the night we arrived. Could not hit anything - Went through a few thousand with not one hand pay. F CET.

Next day I went over to Bellagio to try their VP, but again no luck. Went over to Harrah's to try their Super Triple Play machine. Again, nothing! :grrr:

After the welcome reception at the Wynn Thursday night, I went back to Caesars and gave it another shot on their best paying TDB machine, which has 9/6 for as low as quarters. I finally hit something to get me back close to even for the trip!

Friday I had my work conference at the Wynn all day until about 5:30 pm. When it was over I hit the casino to play VP. I started at the same machine I had incredible luck on when I went last year. Well, my VP luck at the Wynn continued, hitting a bunch of premium hands on TDB. Kickers, kickers, kickers!

About 45 minutes later I was dealt 3 Aces, and boom - boom. I LOVE THE WYNN!!!!

After that hit, I called it a night and went back to Caesars. Grabbed a slice at DeFara in the food court. Not bad, but nothing like the original in Brooklyn.

The next day, Saturday, I had the work conference again all day at the Wynn, followed by some more VP where the Wynn magic continued...

15 minutes later I was dealt four-to-a-Royal. Just needed to pull one card for $4k, and voila!

The machine went cold, so I went back to my favorite machine a half hour later. The very first spin I was dealt 2 Aces, and pulled AWK for $2,000.

That night we had tickets to Britney, so I met my wife at Cosmo for dinner at DOCG, then we walked across the street to PH. Afterward we were both tired and it was raining, so we cabbed it back to Caesars. For some reason I decided to play some more VP at Caesars. I was playing 50-cent TDB, 10-play, and not hitting much. I only had 35 credits left, so I had to bump it down to 5-play for my last hand. I figured I would lose that hand, and that would be it. Was dealt a pair of Aces, and miraculously it filled in...

I put most of that back, and then hit this and called it a night.

Sunday was a free day, but it was raining so I ended up going back over to Wynn and playing VP most of the afternoon. I was pretty well ahead for the trip, so I played mostly dollar level and continued to hit kickers!

I had to meet my wife at Heritage Steak at 8 pm, so I cashed out my voucher for $2,000 and headed for the cage to cash it in. Instead, I turned around and decided to put the whole $2,000 in one machine a try $5 TDB at 3 lines at a time. Burned through about $1500 without hitting anything and was regretting the decision. Then I held one Ace and could not believe this one. Kicker would have been $20,000, but can't complain after holding just 1 Ace... Great trip!!!

Nice run! Love to see Steve having to pay! :evillaugh

What game were you playing at PHo with the extra credit bet per hand? Extra Draw Frenzy?

Glad to see that Caesars still has that one machine sitting there. Maybe I'll actually drag myself there to play STP on it one of these days...but I hate CP sooooooooooo much.
