I love to cruise on cruise ships and I usually pay $1,200. for a 7 day cruise.

I think that if I was to find a cheap hotel on the strip I could stay in Vegas for a whole month for the price I pay to go on a 7 day cruise.

I can afford to buy my own food since I don't eat that much. Plus, there are so many great deals on take-out foods in Vegas.

Has anybody done that or is already doing that as a retired person?

Lucy, you should check out trip reports by Dewey. He does just that on a very thrifty budget!
