Why not just earn the 200 points first?

i dont know if the points will register that quickly on the card, but they don't waive the fee exactly. you wont have to pay the resort fee, but you dont get access to any of the resort items for free. you just get the choice to pay for each item seperately, bundle them together, or nothing.

resort fees are just add ons that people dont really want.
if i want to use it ill pay for it , give me the choice and yes if you play slots the points acrue instantly and you can get you next level imedatly.

and what is so great that i need to pay up tp 30$ dollars a nite in resort fees, dont need internet , pool is free ,dont make phone calls so what excatly does my 30$ resort fee get me . i know i asked cet for them i just cant rember why.:grrr:

Just a little advice about "resort fees." I am platinum and I just stayed at Harrah's and they tried to charge me internet fee. This is happened so my friend tried to log on with her ipad then it asked for an $11.99/day fee that you had to pay with a caredit card to continue. The other CET hotels never charged us (Bally's, Paris, Flamingo I know for sure) when they started the " resort fees."

When I checked out he said I owe $11.99 :grrr:. He said for 1 day of internet. I told they asked for a CC and that we did not even use since we had to input a CC to go further. He took claim to have taken it off my bill but I think he used my RC points. I didn't keep a good track of them but I don't think he understood that the system makes u pay upfront.

Anyways he went on to say that only Diamond and 7Stars get free internet. This whole "Resort Fee" is confusing. I don't get what is included and what's not but, Harrah's is not where I stay at often so I don't their hotel that well. I have been Platinum for over 2 years now and never had extra fee that need to be paid. Little things like this should be free since they know you will be blowing your $$$ in their casinos.

CHESS if I were get the extra 200 points needed, then stop at the Total Rewards counter and get your Platinum card. Then head into check in that way they don't shove you that "Resort Fee." Get it waived you deserve it!!! Where are you staying??

Get the 200 points then go to a total rewards desk and get your new upgraded card before you check in. Then you can show your card at checking should be no problem then.

OMG, somebody needs to make a Tshirt with this that we can all wear while in Vegas. The front would have the slogan:

Resort Fees
I asked for them
I just can't remember why

And the back would list all the properties that claimed customers asked for the resort fee. Golden Nugget would be included with an asterisk. The asterisk thingy at the bottom would say "We Never Charge a Resort Fee! But the free entertainment on Fremont will be $5.99/night."

I'm not even sure platinum gets a waive on the Resort Fees. It did when I was there in May, but the mailers I got last week for free nights and free play list only diamond and seven stars as being exempt from the fees.

Yes, platinum has waived resort fees (at least for now). It shows up every time I look at the calendar or make a reservation "$x resort fee waived". You still have to pay for the extras if you want to use them though.

Paperposter, you are probably right about the internet free only to 7stars cause that guy at the Diamond Check -In did not know what was going on. He was really nice, and he was the same guy that checked me into a DIRTY room that yet had to be cleaned. Luckily they upgraded us to an awesome suite.

Chess, enjoy you stay at Paris. I like it there, with nice sized rooms. And like a few of us are saying get the your Platinum card first then check in. Good luck!!!
