I heard another forum that bellagio's 25 and 50 dollar minimum bj games are 6:5. 3:2 starts at 100 min. Can anyone confirm this?

Not as recently as Thursday. I played at the Aria main floor $50 table this past Thursday and it was still good rules. I suppose the rules could have changed in the past four days, and I didn't walk past any tables cheaper than the $50 tables, so I cannot speak to those

From David McKee on his blog: "Stiffs and Georges"
Optimism at MGM; SLS: The Unhappy Blob
Posted on August 20, 2015 by David McKee
MGM Resorts International sent CFO Dan D’Arrigo to meet with J.P. Morgan analysts, who found MGM execs in an upbeat mood. “We’d characterize the tone of the meetings as positive and Crystals 4investor interest as high,” wrote analyst Joseph Greff. That’s partly because MGM’s bread and butter, convention-goers, have been coming to Vegas in force and October is on course to set a record for group bookings on the Las Vegas Strip. As for other strategic positioning, management is still working its way through the pros and cons of converting to a REIT. As for ongoing asset sales, Crystals (above) is still the property being most aggressively shopped, although the $1 billion price tag may explain why MGM hasn’t found a buyer yet.

MGM taketh away, planning to eradicate any remaining 3:2 blackjack from its Strip casinos, as well as trying to “capture” more resort fees. Thanks, guys. Greff projected that the company’s forthcoming Macao casino would make a “reasonable” contribution to the bottom line. Interestingly, there doesn’t seem to have been any talk of Atlanta, nor of reducing the company’s substantial debt overhang.

    Read this yesterday.
Horrible news if it goes all the way to the $50 tables.
To clarify,it is awful at any level but it seems they have so far limited to $10-$15 tables.
This looks like the end to blackjack as we have known it.
I have a December trip scheduled with friends who play at the $50 level. They may want to scratch.

It'd be surprised if it went up to the $50 level; even Wynn has playable blackjack at that level. But at least at Aria, the tables on the north end of the pit (which are all CSMs with $10-15 during the day and go up to $25 in the evening), 6:5 is supposedly printed on the felt. I'm optimistic that there are still $25 tables farther in to the casino, but I look forward to reports.

Last week at Aria I played at $15 CSM table and it was 3:2, could not find any 6:5 games.

I hate to keep being a total b*tch about this, but if people willingly play 6:5 (or short-pay VP) it will stay around! If people don't play it, it will be gone faster than you can say "insurance?" :) :) :)

Good theory, but as discussed here previously, the issue is that we are talking to a subset of the vegas population who already know what it is and don't like it.

To get people to not play it, you need to get all the people who don't know or care and just want a convenient fun gamble wherever they are to not play it either. And then you end up in a conversation like

    "It's a rip off"

"Um, isn't all blackjack, and everything else in the casino, by definition a rip off?"

"But this is MORE of a rip off"

"So if I buy in my $50 at this $10 table, and play for 20 minutes, how much more am I likely to lose than if I walk 10 minutes to a good table and play 20 minutes?"

"(Quick math in head) About 4 bucks"

    "I'm fine here, thanks"

And btw I am not saying that its no big deal and that people should like it, just that the thought process of "everyone stay away and it will go away" seldom works out. Consider most lower end CET properties (Harrah's for example). In the past they have often had pits (say at $10) where every table was 6:5 except a single one at 3:2. To people who don't know better they are all the same. To some who know better but don't care, they take the open 6:5 seat instead of waiting 15 minutes for the 3:2 seat. And the players who absolutely won't play anything else eventually get their 3:2 seat.

Definitely downtrending at MGM properties - although I can't believe they will really eliminate 3:2 everywhere. But as others have noted CET seems to have reversed the trend after being the ones to start the 6:5 plague. You can now find 3:2 $15 games at most CET properties.

Excellent to hear, thanks for the update. As much as I hate to see 6:5 appearing at Aria in any form, as long as I can still play $25+ tables at 3:2 then I can live with it for now (selfish, I know).

lowest minium tables were 15$ 6/5 csm , they opend the pit by the wierd table games sorry i dont play them but i think like crazy 8 and other stuff like that

    then the good pit

one 25$ 6 shoe good rules , im sure it wont last long

then the otherS were dd and 6 deck 50$ and 100$ i think one 50$ dd and one 6 deck 50$ , there were only around 5 or 6 tables in the good pit open

plus what ever was in the hl room.

so yes there were about 12 6/5 open tables

hope that helps also the good pit was empty and 6/5 tables were busy

my guess is when its bussier the good pit will 100$ minium on the casino floor

If the 50 dollar min double deck table that stays on soft 17 and allows Double after Split is no longer at the Mirage Oct 15 to Oct 20 I will use the comped rooms on this trip and give them minimum action, I will play mostly next door at Treasure Island.

Its getting preposterous, taking away a game that gives us a fair shake.
6 to 5 I will never play, EVER and no one else should either. Stop playing these dumb games and the casinos will be forced to get rid of them.
