Occasionally you will see a Private Message or a post on the board that violates the rules of the board. This can be spam, harassment, or something over the top. (ie, porn, hate, racism, vulgarity, etc.)

When this happens, I'd like to ask you to use the Report Post Icon, located in the upper right corner of every post and Private Message. It looks like this - [IMG]

Clicking that will open a new window where you can write a brief message that should include what you think is wrong with the post. That message will get emailed to myself, my admins, and the moderators of that section. Usually one of us can get online in a short time to take care of things.

After 12 or so years of running this board, I know not everyone likes all the rules, but it does work to keep this a fun and relaxing place to hang out and talk Las Vegas.

    Thanks for your help!

    Sonya,

In the past, I've used the 'Report' button to also report posts that contained fully quoted news articles that may be protected by copyright and might subject the board to litigation (that the poster might not have known was potentially harmful to the board) so that a moderator can edit/remove it.

Are you OK with the 'report' button being used for these reasons?

Absolutely! Anything you think might be a problem that you want to be sure the moderators look at.

I couldn't find where to post this and couldn't post a new question here... So I hope I am asking this question in the right place...

Why can I edit some posts of mine but not others? Even immediately after posting?

    Thanks! :)

There shouldn't be a problem with editing posts right after making them. We have editing available for a limited amount of time. There were problems with people getting upset and going back and editing messages long after posting them so we added a limit to that.

Send me a PM and let me know which messages you were having problems with and I can help you.

    Sonya,

Is there a reason I can only read private messages and not reply to any? I figure there is a probationary period for new accounts like other forums? Thanks in advance-

You should be able to reply to PM's after your first few posts, so you should be okay. Be aware that it doesn't save a copy of "sent" PMs unless you check the box to do so.

I received your PM just fine, so things seem to be working.
