Stayed in renovated King room at MGM Grand over Memorial Day Weekend. Here is a short video of the room, for anyone interested. Although I forgot to put it in the video, the room has electronic sheer and blackout shades.

We just stayed at NYNY with there newly renovated Madison Room and all these renovated rooms seem to be the same. The biggest upgrade is the bigger flat screen TVs.

Did it seem like a brand new room or an old room with a new coat of paint?

    Like the carpet.

There are too many wood fixtures for my taste.

Was that a video/dvd interface on that panel by TV? Can you plug in an iphone or similar device? Did it have USB?

Funny how we all notice something different. I saw still pics months ago of the new rooms. My first turnoff was the metal legs on the bureau and desk...chrome to me means cheasy and cheap. I consider wood good, yet JWBlue finds too much wood a turnoff.

I consider wood to be more of a classic look. My style is contemporary.

    I don't like chrome either.

I prefer fixtures with metal with a matte finish.

Room and bed were very comfortable. The room felt like a new room, not just a repainted room. Bathroom not changed a whole lot, but much better than before. Shower had good pressure and water was hot. Did not hear or notice any construction while in the room. No power or water interruptions. Thought it would be noisy being Memorial Day weekend, but actually was pretty quiet. I could hear doors closing occasionally, but not much else. Was able to sleep pretty good.

I don't have an Ipod, so I didn't really notice if there was a docking station for one, but there are connections for just about everything on the media hub, including USB and internet.

Did find that at times, internet was pretty slow, both wired and wireless.

Thanks....This is the first video I have seen of the renovated rooms. Definitely nicer, and I am looking forward to staying in one of the rooms soon.

In terms of the Madison Rooms at NYNY, I believe they used the old furniture left over when they remodeled the Bellagio last year.

    Yes, yes & yes.

Loved my Grand King on my last trip.

Already have a fall trip booked at the MGM.
