    My Trip Report

Trip report for First 100 weekend - Harrahs Reno 10/23-10/25/2015

I attended "First 100" weekend at Harrahs Reno this past weekend.

Up to 100 people were invited. Everyone would win a prize, and there was a drawing for a single cash prize of $10,000.

The invited were among Harrahs Reno top players, both 7* and Diamond.

I got $90 FP just for going, but it was only good Friday or Sunday . . .

I get into Reno very late on Fridays, since I wait for traffic to die down and I drop my son off at his Mom's for visitation. His Mom lives about halfway between my house and Reno.

I had brought about $50 of dim sum for the Asian Marketing staff since they don't have any dim sum bakeries in Reno. That was my "chan gee" (lucky money) to my host for my $500 FP raffle win.

I got into Reno about 12:15AM, checked into my suite, put the dim sum in the refrigerator, and played for about an hour and a half to make 1000TC. I "promised" my Reno host that I would put in at least 1000TC for any remaining days in the year, even thought I didn't "have to" put in much play other than to make my comps.

So, nothing went well, and I was down after the first day, but within budget. I also had the $500 FP that I won in the raffle at the Asian Marketing Banquet, but I'm saving that for 2016.

As opposed to CET in Las Vegas (and many other places in the US), you can still earn TC with FP in Reno (Biloxi, Joliet, Laughlin, Tahoe, and North KC are the other places where you can earn credit as of 10/25/2015). If that changes, I will change my strategy accordingly.

So, I went to bed at 3:30. I had put the dim sum for my host and his staff in the refrigerator for delivery the next morning.

I got up at 7:00AM and went over to Atlantis for breakfast. They were having a Tequila giveaway that weekend. 750ml bottle of El Jimador 100% Agave Tequila.

I went over there to play and broke about even. As it turned out, the promotion started at noon, and they didn't have their systems properly configured, so the actual snail mail flyer was needed.

I went back and delivered the dim sum. My host didn't get in until 2PM, but there was a host that could accept it for me.

So, I played a little back at Harrahs. They had a Buffalo Stampede machine on the largest screen that I had seen. it was a 72" screen turned sideways.

I broke $100 and played and got a bonus round. Well, my streak remained intact. A handpay.

5 Buffalos with two 2x multipliers x24 = $1443.00. My 17th handpay of the year.

So, after that handpay I went back to my room to look for the snail mail promotion to take back to Atlantis. I found it, and went back to get my bottle of Tequila. I stopped to play a new "Dracula" machine by Ainsworth, the makers of "Rumble".

If you're at all familiar with Ainsworth Slots, the Rumble slot has a feature where, if you get the bull symbol into the center position of the 2nd or 4th reel, it is the "Sweet Zone" and turns all 9 squares (the square you're in plus the 8 surrounding) wild. Getting both the 2nd and 4th reel Sweet Zone is the "Super Sweet Zone".

Three bonus symbols initiates the bonus round, and the screen expands to 9 rows x 5 reels. Hitting the Super Sweet Spot turns the 45 positions all Wild.

In the Dracula Machine, there are two positions on the 2nd and 4th reels that trigger the "Sweet Zone". Three bonus symbols trigger the bonus game and create a 9x5 layout.

During the bonus, I hit the "Super Sweet Spot, which fills the bonus screen with all WILD characters. It paid $750 total. (on a $5 bet)

    I get my tequila

Now I am about even, but still have 500 TC to make at Harrahs. I plan to stop before 5AM, so as not to incur another gaming day and preseve my ADT.

I get my tequila and return to Harrahs Reno. I try to take a nap, but cannot sleep. I shoulda taken a hit from the tequila bottle, but that isn't what it was for . . . .

    next, the First 100 reception

Part two, the First 100 reception.

The "First 100" reception was held in the convention center. There were about 200 attendees (Each attendee had one or more guests, and some, like me, were stag.

Harrahs Reno had a new GM, Kevin Winters, and this was an opportunity for him to introduce himself to the crowd.

Food was served, an appetizer plate, and several "meat on a stick". I was having AYCE (All You Can Eat) Sashimi dinner afterwards, so I ate sparingly.

Sorry for pictures "after", but this will give you an idea regarding what was served.

When you registered, you drew a playing card from a bowl. The suit that you drew would designate the prize that your group would "win" at the reception.

Kevin got up and introduced himself, and announced the first prize.

Team "Hearts" won $100 Best Buy gift cards

He came up about 15 minutes later to announce the second prize, he announced each prize after about 10 minutes.

Team "Clubs" won $75 Southwest Airlines Gift Cards.

    Team "Spades" won $100 FP

Team "Diamonds", my team won $200 FP.

They then had the drawing for the $10,000 cash, and it wasn't me.

I had dinner at Ichiban, the Japanese restaurant at Harrahs Reno with my host. We each had the All You Can Eat (AYCE) Sashimi for $50 each. The AYCE Sashimi included cooked scallops, sweet shrimp and soft shelled crab. I had two servings yellowtail, tuna, and salmon. All very fresh and very good.

I told my host that I would probably be skipping the "Bulova Watch" weekend because I had accepted a CET offer in Las Vegas for a 55" LG TV. He said that he understood, and appreciated my visit in the 4th quarter of the year. I told him that I would probably be visiting Tahoe in December, but saving all FP and FP conversions until 2016.

After dinner, I was very tired. I had $200 FP which I blew through in the HL Slot area, and decided that I would go upstairs and take a nap and "try" to wake up to use the remaining $90 FP after midnight.

Turned in about 10:30PM, and woke up at 12:05AM. Went downstairs and got $50 out of the $90FP, and went upstairs to go back to sleep.

Woke up at 5:45AM and decided to get out of town. Went over to Atlantis for Breakfast, dropped about $100 over there, and then left town.

All in all, not a bad weekend. Didn't win any money, but made two 1000TC days got a bottle of Tequila, and saved my $500FP.

S**t. Going through my pockets, I found two TITOs for about $67 and change. Oh well, they're good until 4/21/2016

Nice thorough Report as always, with a couple of nice hits. You should be going into 2016 in good shape with bonus points and some nice freeplay, give you a jump start on maintaining 7 star.

I love the detail of your report. Congrats on the handpay! I'm a fan of the Buffalo machine, but sadly.....it's never been so kind to me.
