Following another nostalgia ( summer vacation ) thread :
    *
Do you remember how funny Abbott + Costello were -
as you were a child, seeing them for the first time ?
    *
My brother + sisters + I grew up watching their movies.
I GOT TO SEE MY 3 YR OLD LAUGH -- at Abbott + Costello
for the first time, yesterday !
    *
    I was watching "Rio Rita" ( 1942 -- and I honestly, didn't remmeber
this movie of theirs, not that amusing... ) ?
    *
Costello backs into a cactus + gets a thorn in his butt.
He goes thru his verbal/visual antics.....pulls the cactus out + shows
    it to Bud.
Bud : "Stop breaking the lady's plants, will you ?!....Now, put that back
    where you found it !"
    Bud walks away
Lou looks around...whistles in a low tone......shrugs...and jams the thorny cactus
back where he found it = his butt.
He jumps around groaning / doing his antics.
My 3 yr old ( on the couch ) starts laughing out loud !
I watched in amazment at my son laughing at Abbott + Costello for the first time !
    *
Of course, I had to mimic the whole bit , again.:evillaugh
    And my son wouldn't let me stop ! "Dad-gee, do it again !!!" ( he's hysterical )
My wife comes running in to see what all the laughter is + sees her husband doing
his best Lou Costello imitation......with her son cheering me on.. "Dad-gee, do it, again !!...again !!"
    *
    Thank you, Bud + Lou:thumbsup:
    *
    BTW -
"Hold That Ghost ! "........one of their best !
"Buck Privates "............with The Andrews Sisters singing "Bulge Boy" :nworthy:

    Your thoughts ?

I love the old Abbott and Costello movies and Three Stooges too! Grew up on them. Back when TV was black and white (technically greyscale, raster scan, powered by thermionic valves - geek - geek - geek!). I digress, sorry. Flashbacks of Flipper for a moment!

They were funny back then without the use of the F Bomb every other effing word.

Ahh, the good old days! When men were men and women did the dishes!

They were on WGN / WFLD, along with the Three Stooges, Little Rascals, The Lone Ranger and other shows from that era.

A & C were good, I was more partial toward another Costello as a kid.

Even Seinfeld paid them a homeage...
