Celebrating my big brother's 50th in LV in November. Staying downtown but will be venturing down to the Strip for The Big Smoke at The Mirage and to look around. Any recommendations on a place where we can relax with a good cigar and a drink. Open to anything...downtown or Strip...inside vs. outside...quiet vs. people watching...high end vs. a dive... Thanks in advance! MK

If you can make it to Monte Carlo, they have a place on the second floor of Andre's restaurant that serves a large selection of cigars as well as scotch and cognac to go along with it. It is a bit pricy, but good quite atmosphere, very loungy feeling. They also have a great ventilation system.

1923 Bourbon and Burlesque is a Cigar/Bourbon bar with live jazz a burlesque stage show every 15 minutes or so. It's just in the entrance to the mall from Mandalay Bay

In the forum shops, there is or was a cigar lounge where you can order drinks. I believe it was based on Arturo Fuente but not sure if it is still open.

If you like good cigars, hit up Vato in Binions downtown. I'm sure they will be at Big Smoke as well. Paul and Sara who own Vato are both cigar smokers and love the lifestyle. The cigars they hand roll there in the shop are sublime...While they don't actually have a lounge to smoke, you can walk across the way to Benny's Bullpen. Enjoy your self at Big Smoke. I've been trying to get there for 3 years now and can't seem to get the time off at the right time to do it. I've heard it's well worth the money.

+1 Really good choice for a downtown cigar and drink. The folks running that cigar stand are extremely nice and are not cigar snobs who look down on someone, like me, buying a vanilla cigar.

Vanilla Cigar? "jokingly put my nose in the air" :)
Paul Vato is a great guy and they have a nice selection of cigars including their own.
They used to have a cigar buffet where u paid one price and could smoke unlimited cigars all evening.
Is Benny's Bullpen now the rib place? If so I wonder if they still allow cigar smoking.

You can also smoke at Casa Fuente at Forum shops.
You can even bring your own cigar as long as you have a drink.

I can't speak to the quality of cigars that they actually sell there, since I always bring my own, but Rhumbar at Mirage is really nice in the evenings. Might be a little chilly in November, but they've got heaters, and it's a great view of the Strip.

En Fuego on Sahara was pretty solid when my friend brought me there. Not a cigar guy in regards to knowledge, but they were very helpful in helping me choose a good cigar and their pricing is on their website.

All of the Vato brand are hand rolled. Prices around $10-$15 each, but well worth it. If you have a yelp app on your phone, "check in" there before you walk in and you will get 20% off of everything. Last time we were in Vegas I got a box of Aloha blend Churchills, very nice maduros. It was around $225 for 20 sticks. I'm still smoking them weekly...trying to make them last until we hit Vegas again in December, but not sure if I can make them last that long, they are so good.

Most of my favorites have been mentioned, but I'll add some thoughts.

Rhumbar, nice spot, but be aware on weekends, it can be a bit clubby and not a typical cigar lounge feel.

Andres and Casa Fuente have great reviews from friends.

Hit lounge (the high limit/lounge bar) area at Monte Carlo is a great spot, comfortable couches, nice view of casino, and decent higher end drink selection.

The Lake of Dreams at Wynn. We spend a few hours (and $$$) there every trip. They have a decent cigar list. Also good scotch list.

If it is the early evening around sunset, go to Caesars. Buy the cigar of your choice at the cigar shop across from the main cage (I think the place is called Colosseum Cigars). Buy a roadie at Rao's or at the bar in front of Rao's (Fizz), then walk out to the pool and enjoy your smoke and libation on a pool chair.

Yes I have been to 1923 Bourbon, would definitely recommend it to other people for a visit. I love smoke their hand rolled Cigars while taking a sip of their barrel-aged whiskey.:licklips:

I would highly recommend Andre's cigar bar/lounge located upstairs from the restaurant of the same name at the Monte Carlo. The have a good selection of cigars and a great selection of cognacs and brandies. It is a small quiet place which allows for good conversation and relaxation.
