It looks like I might be at Red Rock sometime in August. I have never stayed there on a weekend. What is the pool like on a Saturday? Do I need to get there early to get a seat? Thanks!

we were there Saturday into Sunday last August. It was the weekend before Labour Day and the hotel was pretty dead, but around 10 a.m. the pool was about 2/3 full, and a lot of that was people dropping towels on chairs to 'reserve' them and then bailing.

We often visit Red Rock and the pool is almost always busy, especially with families with children.

Don't they let locals come in for a daily fee?

I think they may have stopped that practice (locals for a fee) so it's not as bad as it used to be. We were there on a weekend in July and wasn't overly crowded-still lots of kids, especially in the big pool. It's shady until later in the morning and people seem to come a little later so I think you'll be fine.

That would be good news. That was one of my biggest reasons for not staying there (because we love our pool time), that and the smoke in the casino. I wish they could fix the smoke issue because I love the property. Nothing against locals....just don't like going on vacation and having to fight with pools where you have to stand in line at 8am just to get a chair for the day.
