Was just reading on Twitter -- from a good Burgundy wine critic, if any of you dig Burghound -- that his wife tried to go to Ku Noodle at SLS last night, but it was closed by 10 p.m. (instead of the advertised 11 p.m.) because there "weren't any customers." Same story at Umami Burger. So it sounds like the struggle for SLS continues to be real ... any other recent experiences?

When I went there at 5pm on Friday night recently, the volume on the gaming floor was a bit disappointing. I didn't check restaurant/shops though. They also got rid of their 99.9%+ VP for nickels-quarters... Circus Circus (our next stop) was a lot more hopping at 6:15pm. But there was also a national high school cheerleading competition going on that weekend, so that may have helped CC.

I'm going to bump this because I'm tempted to check out this joint when I'm out there next month.

I'm guessing that the hotel ain't going gangbusters. I've periodically checked on rates for the weekend I'll be out there (which, to be fair, has pretty inexpensive rates throughout LV) and they've gone from $179 all the way down to $82 in the month or so that I've been checking. It appears they've made a bit of a rebound to $99 in the past week.

I noticed that joining The Code will get you 40% off your first stay...I'm tempted to check it out for a night but the location is just dreadful and those rooms look so tiny.

It was dead on Wednesday and Thursday last week, despite three conference tournaments and a couple of conventions in town. Things picked up Friday and Saturday, with the Life nightclub drawing a big crowd, but the casino/restaurant traffic was still not pretty.

What I saw does not bode well for SLS's long-term future.

You're not really missing anything at Ku Noodle. It's the worst eatery at SLS IMO.

They are supposedly making some changes to the gaming floor to attract more players, but it might be too little too late?

I just can't see myself making a special trip up there. Hell I could've stayed there for cheaper than I'm staying at the Nugget, but why would I want to put myself on an island? I'm even renting a car but it doesn't matter. That location tastes my balls.

I go to SLS about once a month. It's relatively slow during the week (like several Strip casinos) but seems to make up for it on the weekends. The restaurants are as good as the critics say they are. They have some good deals for locals with a Code Card - which keeps me coming back.

I hope Umami Burger sticks around, and they don't downgrade the VP at the bar there. Might be too late already since my last visit...

I don't know when you were last there, but when I was there a couple of weeks ago I noticed that all the multiline (3/5/10 plays and Spin Poker) had been removed from both bars. Only 98.9% and above games at the bars are now single-line $2 and $5. vpFREE2.com has the right info on that. http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/sls-las-vegas

I went to Umami Burger for a football Sunday in November. I really liked it, but the place was beyond dead.

No wait at about noon, no line at the sports book portion, which only looked sort of open. I thought it'd be a mad house considering all their tvs, however there were only 20 or so people in the entire indoor and outdoor area.

I so want to love SLS. I finally made it there last trip. Liked the casino vibe, have loved the look of the rooms online.. But I'm with you that the location stinks :( Huge bummer :( Means I'll probably never stay there and not likely to make a special trip up to gamble either.

When I was out for super bowl weekend I took the monorail there 1 day and signed up for the card. I put maybe $100.00 through the slots total. This week I received a postcard for discounted rates for April may and june
