Like most on this board, I love everything Vegas. I love the history of the town. I love reading about the current things going on.
What is the most entertaining Vegas book you have read? I'm looking for a good read for my 5+ hour flight in June. Thanks

I read Blood Aces. About Benny Binion. Was OK, but thought it would be better.

Bringing down the house about the card counting teams was good
Of course, Fear and Loathing is a classic.
The Stu Unger story was good but kind of dark

    Grandissimo is a great book.

John L. Smith has written some good books:

    Sharks in the Desert,
No Limit: The Rise and Fall of Bob Stupak and Las Vegas' Stratosphere Tower,
Running Scared: The Life and Treacherous Times of Las Vegas Casino King Steve Wynn. I prefer the Stupak book to the Wynn book but both are good.

Also, Super Casino is a good read

Once you get past the first 50 pages or so this turned out to be a great book that I couldn't put down.

I just finished Grandissimo. It was a good read but a lot more about Jay Sarno obviously and less so about Veags as a whole. Sarno of course reinvented Vegas but you have to read through a lot of his personal history (which was interesting). Just in case that's something you're not interested in. Tons of information specifically about the building of Ceasers and Circus Circus.

Super Casino is my favorite Las Vegas book. It's outdated now but it was very entertaining.

Whale hunt in the desert is another classic Vegas read about a casino host and catering to "whales".

American Roulette by Richard Marcus is good, about the greatest cheater ever :) He's an interesting guy, I emailed him a few times. He has a lot more balls than I do. His story was featured on one of the Breaking Vegas episodes.
