Hi all, we will be going to Vegas next month and are staying at MGM and Planet Hollywood. Already know my way around MGM pretty handily, but not too sure about Planet Hollywood. Seems sometime back I had read that there was a long walk involved through the mall (but couldn't find the thread)? If anyone can give insight on where the hotel self parking is and how to get into the check-in it would be appreciated. I've only been there (the casino) a couple of times, and would rather not carry all my luggage through the mall LOL Just trying to do a little homework to make things easier when we arrive. Thanks all

your cab will drop you off in the bottom floor were valet is at you check in as soon as you open the door and then you catch the elevaror to your room right there, you dont go thru the mall, the bell desk is right there were the cab drops you off.

    Hi Petuna,
I recently made a comment about the mall being a bit of a pain. Thankfully (as Rooster correctly described) it has nothing to do with you reaching your room. I just hate the fact that the Miracle Mile Shops cannot be circumnavigated, check the map:

Just curious as to what you mean by that? We loved having the Miracle Mile shops there during our last PH stay! Did you want the mall to be just a circle that could be 'circumnavigated' rather than having some of the shop near the exit wings??

Ya if your staying at PH you don't need to go through the mall at all. Now if you were staying at Elara that's another story and probably what you were reading.

You all must be staying at a different Planet Hollywood.

To the OP, if you self-park, you will have a long walk and one of the options is through part of the mall. You can also walk underground but it's a bit awkward. I'd recommend valet, but then you might have a long wait for your car.

If you are parking a car in their garage and need to drag your luggage to check-in, then yes it is quite a haul through the miracle mile!

Find the elevators in the parking garage and take them to the mall. Once you exit, you'll see the signs that show which direction to PHo check-in. Go past the rainstorm display, past the pool, to the halo bar, I think its another left and after 10 minutes of this you finally arrive at the casino. Go in, look for the escalator and drag your luggage down to the registration desk.

Just did this 3 weeks ago, that's the best I can remember on how to get there.

You can also drop your luggage off when you enter the garage and the bell-men will take it for you. Then go park the car and check-in later. The bell-men will bring your luggage up when you call them. Don't forget to tip them each way.

Thank you for all your responses :) So I take it the self parking is the one people also use for the mall? The hotel itself doesn't have it's own? Sounds as though valet may be the way to go, though my hubby likes to come and go without the hassle.....

yes, it's the same parking structure..
just valet the first day when you check in so you don't have to drag your luggage through the mall, and then self park afterwards.

other than that, PH has a great location

You will be fine. Your cab/shuttle/limo will drop you off near the check in desk. No worries

I generally don't like to valet park, but at Planet Hollywood I consider it a must. After self parking the first time I stayed there, and dragging my ridiculously heavy bag for about a mile through that mall, I said "Never Again!". The only time we had a long wait for valet was when we made the mistake of heading out around check out time one day. There is a DIamond Line if you happen to be diamond level.

We stayed there in April and when I asked about the self park the bell man said "If you are checking with luggage you REALLY don't want to self park". LOL so we used valet and never had more than a 5 minute wait for the car and usually less. With all the stories I've read really glad we did valet and it is free (but we tipped each time).

Best option is to valet (front valet, not the Miracle Mile valet).. it can take a while on a busy weekend, but it's worth it. Especially when you check in, but yea it is kind of a hike otherwise, not one you want to make with your luggage!
