Venetian and Palazzo are part of the same hotel complex and are joined by an indoor walkway. You can see a property map at this link:

I live and the cold, wet pacific northwest, near Seattle, so I think the weather in Las Vegas in March is wonderful. Typically temperatures will be in the 70's, which is plenty warm for me.

The one thing I'll add is that the weather in Vegas has been highly variable this year. Last week it was in the 40s; yesterday it was 70 (which was amazing outdoor dining weather).

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of college spring breaks are starting early this year either on Saturday March 5th or 12th so I don't know how that will affect occupancy.

Weather FORECAST can always be found online (probably better than what we all guess at). Here is one site

To get an idea how busy things will be during that time, check the monthly rate calendar for a few hotels. High rates means they are busy.

13 days? I would do at least two different hotels. Maybe even three for variety.

One of the more interesting things I've noticed here is how different non-US travelers do things from us Americans. We're all about the "long weekend" and hotel hopping for longer trips. Non-US people seem to want to spend more time and stay at one hotel for the duration.

Sometimes I think we may be "doing it wrong". ;) Back in the early days of this place, I used to stay at a different property every night so I could see and photograph more rooms. I do NOT recommend that for anyone. My whole trip became an endless series of checking in/checking out.

I did that back when I was in college and shortly thereafter. On a five-day trip I'd stay in four different hotels. It was exhausting. Nowadays I'd maybe consider two properties if I was there for a week or longer, but as it stands I've done multiple four-day trips to Aria where I basically haven't even left the property.

Agree with that. The other extreme is one hotel for 13 nights. I am thinking 3-5 nights per hotel depending on the length of stay might work well.

But, as mentioned, some people do things totally different.

Qatar: The Venetian and Palazzo have very similar rooms. The big difference is the décor. The décor of the rooms at the Venetian are very much like a 'grand dame' hotel in Europe. You will feel like you're staying at a well known European hotel. The décor of the rooms at the Palazzo is modern. Beautiful and modern. I would stay at whichever hotel has the décor that's to your taste.
As far as coming at the beginning of March or the end of March, the weather will not be all that much different. Maybe a better chance of hitting a cool day near the beginning of the month. The biggest things to affect your trip will be 1) Spring Break, and 2) March Madness. Spring break is when all of the college kids get a week off from college. Each college sets it's own dates, but it will mostly fall during the second and third week of March. March Madness is when the college basketball league plays their final games of the season. You get a lot of basketball fans that like to bet on games in Las Vegas during this time. This year it is March 15-April 4.
Personally, I avoid Las Vegas this month. These are two crowds I can do without. :Þ

I recommend picking the Venetian. If you like that casino better then stay there. I love the Venetian's rooms. Good luck!
