    Hi,

We are taking our daughter to vegas for 21st bday
Our suite will be comped and we pay casino rate for her room.

We have never had 2 rooms booked before so wondering are these rooms linked with offers or would casino rate room have separate free play or other perks?

Thanks for any assistance offered Deb

BTW we will be at Aria
I have asked Host but she is away right now

no, you won't get any FP with your second room.

No, the other room will be a room. Nothing more, nothing less. Freeplay, food are comps that go the player, not the room itself.

With that said, a few notes. Since you have a suite comped, I am guessing you play a fair amount. And, you may have some express comps. You will be able to use those to pay for the other room, unless you play so much that the host actually comps it in the end.

When you checkin, make sure you do both rooms at the same time so they can get the 2nd room near the first one - possibly even connecting if you want it.

We have an upcoming trip to Hotel32 - June 6-9th.

We asked our host Catherine for two rooms - my mom / dad in one (2 nights) & my lovely wife / me in the other (3 nights).

We were comped one room (a Loft - 3 nights), and our expectation was that we would be charged casino rate in the other (a Suite - 2 nights). We have $4000 in Express Comps, so we thought we could use those for the other room.

Host asked for our credit card info to "book the second room" - I thought only to hold it...

Nope! Got charged $662 for two nights at Hotel32. Called our host & got nowhere on this. Something to the effect that Hotel32 is "special" & Express Comps don't apply (but if I wanted to book my folks in the standard Monte Carlo room they'd be able apply the Express Comps).

I know I'm pampered, but it IS funny how something like this eats at you. I'm tempted to pull up stakes and stay elsewhere... Am I wrong?

    Not at all.

That's especially annoying since the whole 'express comps' thing was being sold as being a way to give player's a choice on how to allocate their comps as they wished - except that's really not how it works at all in practice, with there being all kinds of stupid, non-obvious exceptions.

Hmmmm... I would love to see if this is what REALLY happens when you go to pay. Wonder if the host mis-spoke due to confusion/stupidity or a miscommunication.

If you do go ahead and go, let us know what REALLY happens.

Yes. Charge already posted to my AMEX. I talked with VIP services (for a second opinion so to speak) & they state it is Hotel32 policy to chg the room upfront.
They are quite befuddled about the Express Comps. "They are not actual dollars, Sir."
My hope would be they could use them / refund my card at checkout like every other property. Unsure / dubious if this will happen tho.

we have booked our suite and room.
They have comped the suite and will apply our free play to this reservation.
We will pay casino rates for other room and must pay fee.
Fortunately we will use our express comps to cover most charges.
Our host is going to try to add more comps closer to our arrival date.

whenever a host asks you for a credit card, you have to find out what's going on. there's no reason they should ever need that. i'm sure you will ask twice next time.

I posted on the Mlife facebook "I read on a Vegas site somewhere that we can not use Express Comps to pay for rooms at Hotel32. Is that true?"

Mlife replied "you are able to use Express Comps for rooms at Hotel32. Thanks."

Snives, you may have hit the nail on the head when you said "They are quite befuddled about the Express Comps. 'They are not actual dollars, Sir.' My hope would be they could use them / refund my card at checkout like every other property. Unsure / dubious if this will happen tho."

Since the Mlife program believes you are right, I'd send a message to M life Member Services at [email protected] and see if they get anywhere on this.

I have been asked by various hosts at CET property for a CC before, until I decided to leave one on file. For CET props, you need a credit card either on file or given to them when making a res.

For MGM, no CC is needed, and you can even cancel day of without a problem.

It seems like the host stated that Hotel 32 you have to pay upfront for non-comped room, hence the CC.

However, to say that Express comps can't be used is suspect. I don't trust the incompetent folks at Monte Carlo. I would write a letter to head of marketing of MGM and complain about this.
