I'll be staying in Aria Sky Suites for my trip this weekend - this is only my 3rd trip to Vegas, my last trip in June I stayed in a 1br Sky Suites Penthouse - this time I think it's just one of the regular 1BR ones per my host. Anyway, my view for the June from the bedroom was out toward MGM Grand and south toward Monte Carlo for those that are familiar with whatever side of the property that is on.... As I'm not too familiar with the hotel/views available....

Can anyone tell me when I check in, should I request a particular floor, view, direction, etc. to have a better view than the one I had for my last trip?

Any help would be appreciated

The 1 brs have more varied views than the Penthouses. The Aria sits back (never did get why they did that) so its strip views are more limited by the other CityCenter buildings. It sounds like you had one of the better options in the Penthouse.
The 1 brs have 2 options the more expensive is a "City View" which is the strip side but not always that expansive. It will be up to your host to get you the "upgraded" 1 br. They get $50 or so more for them on the rack rate.
The 1br's that end in 001 are on the corners and are most desirable but are limited. Again, your host would be beneficial there if one is available.

Thanks, I'll ping him right now to get a 001 if available - since it's the night before our arrival hoping he can lock us into one.
