    My Trip Report

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    October 12th-18th.

I hope that this does'nt get too long or boring so here goes.Normally we head down only once a year from the great white north so this particular romp was an unexpected treat. Headed down from Kelowna at 11:30 am via Horizon to Seattle and hopped from there on Alaska to arrive in around 6pm. Flight and all was quite good as usual with nothing eventful to speak of. Picked up our wheels at Dollar, got upgraded from full size to minivan for no extra costs ( nice start).Headed off to Orleans for check-in ,again quite smooth and got our usual pool view non-smoking floor room. We received some good rates ($50 bones a night)for 4 nites and as we always rent a car, the Orleans has become our new home base. The Mr.Olympia competition was staged there for the weekend and all I can say is I have never seen such a variety of steriod popping girlie men or ladies as what we experienced!!. Actually the ones that had the good builds were quite impressive. Anyhow got the bags to the room and headed off for supper to the buffet. We still had 2 for 1's our last trip out, so for $ 13.00 it did the job. Hit all of my usual favorites and it did'nt go so well at the start. I was actually getting beat up pretty consistent at VP, so tried out some nickel slots. My favorites when they pay of course are Tailgate Party, Frog Prince and i really can get hooked in on that stupid little mexican Mariachi dude. Well even those were kickin my ass so looking at the watch, which now shows 2am figured enough was enough. Starting heading to the room and for whatever reason i stop off at the Foxworthy slots. Figured what the hell throw $20 into him and see what happens. Got a few little bonuses but it's starting to eat away so cashout around $27.00 and go around to the other side and try a different one. Same thing, kinda up and down and i figured I'll reduce my bet down to 125 so maybe I can last a little bit longer. A few more little bonus strikes and then it starts. Hits this particular feature( of which I know nothing as to how its going to work)and WHAM!!! hits for 100,000 credits. I'm looking at this thing and going, what the hell did i get. Now you have to realize the combination of some Bacardi's & coke along with the time awake thing, it took a few seconds to comprehend that ole Jeffie Redneck on a $ 1.25 penny bet just paid me $1000 bananas I'm thinking, thank you very much, I'm going to bed now. so cash in the voucher for $1083.00 and head on upstairs a little heavier than when I came down. (all that liquor you know).

    Day 2
Up, showered and down for breakie around 9:30.Now on this trip I have wifie and the mother-in law who btw is the most fun lady I have every known for 75 yrs young. She can pack more rums into her than most guys and she loves to party. On most nights i end up beating her to the room and she'll mosie in around 4 or so, grab a catnap and get ready to go again. She's like the Energizer Bunny Total opposite of my hunny who likes to play a bit , but usually calls it a day by around 11-12 and sometimes sooner. The nice thing about having her mom is they go out shopping all day and I get to disappear for awhile and just lose myself. So today, off to Henderson to drop them off at the big mall and I head across to Sunset Station to spend the afternoon.I was trying so desperately trying to win the Jumbo Jackpot as it was around $139,000 and was set to go any time soon. There is a very good selection of vp in this place and i played on quite a few. Nailed some quads here and there and at the end of the day walked out of there up around $200. Met up with wifie and her mom and headed of to GVR for the buffet. Now last time out we were totally blown away with the quality of the food but this time it actually sucked!! However the pastries they have are to die for, especially the lemon merangue.Finished our meal, played for an hour of which I hit quads on 4 different machines to color up another couple hundie. So far so good. Total play time close to 7 hours and I'm actually in a positive position. Grabbed the van and headed to Mandalay for the Mamma Mia show.

We have been listening to other members comments and everything they say that you will do will happen. You can't get those silly songs out your head. Picked up our tickets from will call. Now I had booked these through the Goldstar page, so we didn't know what seats we were going to get for $66.00. Well let me tell ya, 4 rows from the front smack centre stage, the absolute best seat I will recommend their service to anyone. We had used them previously for We Will Rock You and got fairly good seats for a fractional charge. Anyway the show was great, seats were good, eye candy was even better. All in all a really good day. After the show we just grabbed the car and off back to the ranch. The wifie decided that she was spent and was going up to the room and as we both had to get up for 7 to head over to our training course I should probably turn in as well. So kissed ma goodnight, wished her luck and to sleepville we went.

    Day 3

Good thing i went to bed when i did as it was going to be a long boring day, sitting in a classroom listening to an instructor for 8 hours.
Anyway we made it through and went to meet Ma over at the Frontier as she was taking in some afternoon bingo sessions while we were in class. Met up with her and played for an hour or so hitting absolutely nadda! Figuring the streak was over we decided to head over and see THE WYNN!!! Have read so much and heard all the comments, well we had to check it out so in we go. It is quite nice but it didn't blow us away or nothing, still like the Bellagio better. Anyway the ladies wanted to peruse so I went to find me a machine. Of course i had to sign up for one of those fancy red cards so with new card in hand venture off to find a machine.Sat down at a bank of .25 vps, don't ask me where and proceeded to drop $50 in about 5 minutes. Jeez, thanks Steve. So kinda choked walked around a bit and saw a couple of db near some bar restaraunt close to the front. Also the cans were right close by? Anyway tossed $40 into that one, when wifie nextelled me and said they were done and wanted to go eat. Tried to explain where I was, but not knowing could'nt do that well enough so I told her to get pointed over this way and I would meet them near the front entrance. Within 2 seconds bingo bango 4 bullets for 800 credits. Called wifie back and told her to divert her way over of which she was all of about 10 feet away anyway. Cashed out, Thanks Steve and walked out of there with more than i came in. For once in my entire life of gambling in Mr. Wynns establishments I have come out a winner and I plan to stay that way for a while Anyway off to Mirage to California Pizza Kitchen to indulge in some cold beers and the Hot Italian Spicy pizza. So good. Back to Orleans to finish off the night, burp, rip a few blue flamers and head off to bed. No wins much to speak of.

    Day 4,
Happy Birthday to me. Crap- 1 more year to the illustrious 5-0. Today was going to be a good day no matter what.Although day 2 of sitting in class we had tickets for the Eagles concert at MGM. All my life I wanted to see these guys rock and in a few short hours my wish would come true.
So we made it through the day, completed our tasks and headed back to the room to get cleaned up. Not wanting to sit like beached whales, we just decided to grab something light and easy like some salata's and we could always grab something later on. Parked at the trashy castle and walked on over to get ready for my ultimate birthday party. Yes, these guys were going to serenade me at my party and boy did they ever They only played for 3 hours. Can you imagine 3 hours of nothing but there greatest stuff and what can a guy say about Joe Walsh.Unfreakinbeleivable.After the 2nd encore people were leaving thinking it was over, so I turned to wifie and said lets go up to the front cause I wanted a good look at the old dudes. So up we went and now we're like 5-6 rows back, hoping they were coming back out. Sure as shit they did and we danced there for the next 1/2 hr AWESOME!!!! What a way to spend my special day.

After coming down from the ceiling, we headed back across and decided to play at what used to be our old house. Well let me tell ya, they changed out all of my old favourite VP buy the bar areas with all the new Game Kings. Absolutely sucked. Didn't get much play time on a hundie at all, so we herded up and got the hell out. I don't have that warm homey feel for that place anymore now that they have changed all the familiarities that we once new. Too bad.
But I would'nt let that throw a damper on one of the best days ever. Headed back on and up to nitie nite.

    Day 5
Moving day today. Pack up and check out to head over to Paris for 2 free nite offer we had received.Got a great view room right in front of the Bellagio Fountains rm 2513.Have never stayed at Paris but the rooms are quite nice, a little bit smaller than Orleans, but the bathrooms were decked. (This is important later).Anyway wifie and ma wanted to head to the flea market on Decauter then they would cab it over to Meadows Mall. So i dropped them off and headed to Suncoast to play a little.Arriving at Suncoast noticed some tour buses in the parking lot and asked the valet what was up. He said that these were the shuttles for the Pga golf tourney that was going on at the TPC Summerlin. So I decided to hop aboard and check it out. Having never been to one before it was quite an experience to say the least.Towards the end the crowds were quite large so I decided to bail out early as it would be quite a wait if a person stayed through to the end. Headed back to Suncoast and gave them a little action. Hit quads (smaller ones) on 6 different machines, but in the end just broke even, maybe even $20 ahead. Oh well at least I didn't donate. Also noticed that the Megabucks carousel was reading
0$, then the rolling #'s about 10 mil and 20 thousand. Asked one of the slot attendants what was up and they said it had been hit earlier that morning. Damn- we wanted to throw some loot at it but not now. Found out later it went off around 2 am or so at the Alladin.

Headed out from there and picked up the ladies at the mall, stopping at the factory outlet shops on 215 north.Quick pit stop to pick up some jeans and shirts at the Hilfiger store and gone. I figured out my total shopping excursion to be about 15 minutes from parking the car, walking, buying and leaving. Is that not the way we men shop?
Got back to the hotel, unloaded the bags and headed up to our room. We had not checked in yet. After that headed over to Alladin to try their buffet. I must say we were totally impressed by it.The selection and the quality were excellent.

After dinner headed on to the BC. After dropping over a hundie on various DDB throughout sat over at the back corner bank of progressives. After about 20 minutes of going up and dpown like a yo yo got a nice little shot when 4 bullets came out. Great! Cash out for a nice little sum and decided to move on down the line to try another. Within the 1st 10 hands- bingo- another 4 bullets. The sad thing each time no kicker, however we won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Cash out and go look for wifie and ma.Wifie was playing the nickel progressive when she hit for 4 dueces. As she does'nt gamble much she figured that that was a big enough win for her so she cashes out. Ma is taking a very good beating so we tell her to bail out now and stop the bleeding. She wants to stay so me and wifie decide to go back to Paris.
Upon getting back wifie looks at her clock and as she does not want to turn into a pumpkin before midnite, decides she's going up for the night, happy as a lark that she's up around $50. I walk her over to the elevators, get a little rub for luck and head on over to try and slay another DDB dragon. Well the selection at Paris is not very good and the machines that were open were like a huge shop vac. Any winnings from BC went into their coffers. P-offed decided enough for one night so started heading over towards the elevators. On the journey by noticed a $1 progressive which was sitting around $5500 so I figured, what the hay, I'm still up anyway lets give er a little action. Threw in a voucher that i had for $129 and started to play. On the
1st seven hands not even a pair. On the eighth hand, 4 bullets dealt.$800 smackers, thank you very much. The guy 2 machines over leaned over and asks if I hit the Aces which i just smiled and nodded. Cashing out the ticket he mumbled something of which it wasn't congrats and I decided that enough for the evening and headed on up. Wifie was just turning in when I dropped the ticket on the bathroom counter of which her reply was something about shopping the next day at another mall. All in all another good day.

    Day 6
    Highs and a very low.

Got up that morning to go for breakie. We had some coupons for the Frontier so as the girls were spending the day at Fashion mall figured it would be a good place. After breakie dropped off the girls and decided to head back to Orleans for the day.Fairly ok for the most part until about 11am when playing a double bonus deluxe the capper of the trip, that elusive Royal!!Never before in Vegas have I hit one so this was indeed very special. I must have stared at that screen for about 5 minutes, just staring and smiling. Cocktail waitress came by and I ordered my special coffee royal which had a nice shot of Drambuie. After sitting there for awhile decided to go cash out that ticket and for the next few hours played everything under the sun, winning some ,losing some, all in all just having a great time. About 3:30 the girls called and said they were grabbing the shuttle from BC and would be at Orleans soon. Still have'nt told them yet about the biggie win.Upon their arrival they nextel me to see where I'm at and we hook up. Asking how my day went, I proceeded to open the ole wallet to unveil the group of hundies that were assembled. My honey was gleefully happy and after doing a little dance I handed it on over for safe keeping, because sure as heck it would find it's way back into the Orleans coffers. Besides, I had a lot of action already that day anyway. So off they go to find ma's favourite bank of nickel machines and I just kinda hung out around a progressive quarter bank. After about an hour or so i started to get some wierd crap happening in the ole stomach area, so decided to go for a walk outside to get some air. This was now getting worse as time was moving along and finally i went over to where the girls were. I guess wifie took a look and commented that I was whiter than snow and my reply was that i felt worse than i looked. I told her that i needed to get back to the hotel, so we left ma and got the car to head back to Paris. Not knowing how I hung on that long, parked the car at Valet and motored on up to the room praying that I would make it.The next scene was not pretty and between the shakes and then burning up my supposed last night in Vegas was spent between sleeping, waking up, running to the can and back again. All I hoped was that tomorrow I would be in a half decent condition to fly. From Euphoria to total depression. My best trip so far had turned into a hellish nightmare.

    Day 7 travel day.

Well after shedding about 20# that previous nite I got up around 6 am, still a bit groggy and foggy but at least the worst of the storm was behind me. I wanted something to drink in the worst way, so decided to try and go find a cup of hot tea.Wifie and ma said that they were going for breakie over to the IP and would meet up with me when they got back. Our flight wasn't due out until 1:00 so we had a bit of time yet. So down I go looking for some tea and after grabbing a cup mosied over, wearily to find a vp machine. Threw $20 into it and was just sipping away, thanking the guy upstairs that I was in somewhat of an okay condition. Probably should have went to the room cause I was making all sort of stupid mistakes. I'm down to about $7 when I get dealt 3 bullets and a 3,K. Well guess what? discarded the king and what pops in his place? Yesiree Bobby the other bullet pops up for a nice 2000 credits. I could not believe it. Horshoes up my ass i quickly hit that cash out button and strangely enough the fuzziness that I had was starting to disappear. Get on the nextel to find out where the ladies were and wifie asks how it's going. My reply back was that the luck continues and would meet them up at the room. They get there, i open the wallet and peel of 5 more hundies that she quickly deposited in the bank of Lynda.

Pack up all the gear, check to see if any charges, Nice to see $0, thank you Paris for your donation and head on to grab the car for the trip back. Still raining for the 2nd day and when we get to the airport all flights from Alaska are delayed at least 1-1/2 hrs. That means we'll miss our connection in Seattle so we'll have to catch the later flight home. Get to Seattle and find out that Horizon flight to Kelowna is overbooked and there are no seats available for us so we'll have to overnight it in Seattle at our expense as it was weather oriented. After much pleading and playing the "I don't feel well card" Alaska was able to get us one seat, pay for the rooms and even came good for some vouchers for the girls for breakie in the morning. So left the girls to head back to the Horizon terminal to wait for the flight, board the plane of which there are 3 empty seats, because Horizon offered free flights to those who gave their's up and headed back to Kelowna. All in all a good trip I would say and the 1st one in 7 years where we came home with money. I think we where quite overdue. Now we have some left for our next jaunt in February .

Day 6 all I had was the breakie over at Frontier. I will admit that it was not very good at all. However I do not think it was to do with that. I think it was a flu type thing that I coulda picked up off a machine or something. My guess anyway.I definitely know it wasn't the drambuie!!!
