Excellent question, easy answer. NO. As you mentioned, it turns the 7 and 5 into 8 and 6 payouts! Also, you would assume they would have to shift the odds of the other numbers, they would probably change the 4 and 10 to 9:5 if you hit the point, and 7:5 if you hit the number. The 8 and 6 would probably pay even on the point, who knows on the number. Probably 11:10. I don't think this will ever happen.

Hope it never happens, but you never know. Labor costs and profit per square ft. is probably the reason the machine craps and roulette began to appear.

Another way to increase profits is to raise table minimums to the point the low rollers like myself is priced out of the market.

For myself if the minimums reach green chip I can't play like I want to. I'd probably play just passline with single odds and that's boring....... I like to spread the bets around but at green chip level it's too expensive.

Nope, I wouldn't play craps at those tables. I see no need to enable casinos whom show utter contempt for their BJ players in 6:5 games and the same would apply to casinos whom lower the odds in craps.

Isn't this already somewhat in effect with the so-called 'Strip' vs 'Downtown' payouts for prop bets, i.e. 15/30 to 1 vs 15/30 for 1. The Field also can have different payouts dependent on the payout for the 2 and 12 (or both). I believe Wizard of Odds mentions a casino with a zero house advantage on The Field by merit of their 2 and 12 payouts.

In any case, I believe people still make prop bets on the poorer paying layouts, and the house advantage difference is greater than the one generated by 3:2 vs 6:5 blackjacks.

I don't think they'll ever mess with the payout for the Free Odds. For one they couldn't call it that anymore and also because the Free Odds are used to advertise to get people in the door (and hopefully those people make prop bets too).

Really? No don't bets? I didn't examine the machine when I passed by it but I thought it had the standard layouts, not sure if it included don'ts but I will check on it when I go up in June.

Nobody was talking about a machine.

The OP:"I was at some casino downtown last year that had every number as a point. Meaning if you rolled a yo on the come out that established the 11 as a point. "

Crapless Craps is a regular sized craps table, but you'll see spots where the point can be set for 2, 3, 11 or 12. If you roll a 7 on the come-out, it's a win, but because they are setting the point on 2, 3 and 11 and 12, there's no way to set up a don't pass bet. Another way to look at it is that it's impossible to lose a pass bet on the comeout roll (win on 7, everything else sets a point), so creating a don't pass bet that would lose on a 7 would be impossible to win (either loses or sets the point).

You can lay against any individual number if you want to play the darkside, but that's not the same as playing don't pass/don't come. They'll let you place free odds behind your passline bet that pays 3:1 on 3 and 11 and 6:1 on 2 and 12.

I suspect a good number of those who say they would no longer play with worse payouts would continue playing. They'd gripe and probably alter their betting, but would play nonetheless. I'm equally sure blackjack players would have said "hell no" to playing 6:5, but we all know how that's turned out. Like resort fees, when it comes to degraded games (often with higher limits), tighter slots, or crummier pay tables, many players don't know, don't care, or somehow manage to rationalize things. I find it depressing!
